The county ace put his recent injury woes behind him and it was his brace of three-pointers that were the highlight of this impressive Junior A Championship win

Caolan McColgan scored both goals in the battle of the Naomh Padraigs on Saturday night in this third round Junior A clash in Pairc MacDiarmada.  

The county ace, in only his second game back from injury, also landed two points in what was a foregone conclusion from a long way out.

McColgan’s first goal helped the men from Ture into a healthy 1-7 to 0-2 half-time lead. Kevin McBrearty, Marty Mongan, Brian Breslin and Johnny Robb hit the point for the locals.

Kevin Lynch, Kevin Doherty, Cormac McColgan, Michael McCarron, Caolan Harkin, Andrew McCarron and Dermot Keaveney also scored for the winners.   

Naomh Padraig, Lifford scorers: Kevin McBrearty 0-3, Marty Mongan 0-2 Brian Breslin and Johnny Robb 0-1 each.
