Erin Fildara McLaughlin certainly endeared herself to her new employers Portsmouth Women with two goals and an assist on her home debut for the club.
Portsmouth enjoyed a 5-1 win over Watford in a pre-season friendly at Westleigh Park and after an opening goal from Megan Hornby on 11 minutes, McLaughlin scored twice before half-time - in the 36th and 45th minutes - to give her side a 3-0 advantage at the interval.
The Culdaff native, who joined in the close season from Peamount, set up Ava Rowbotham for a fourth and then in stoppage time, Emily Pitman completed the scoring. McLaughlin enjoyed her first appearance for Pompy last week as a second-half substitute in a 4-2 win over AFC Bournemouth.
Portsmouth Women currently play in the Championship, the second tier of professional football in England, and open their competitive season at Charlton Athletic on Sunday, September 8.
