Former Donegal manager and Armagh All-Ireland champion Aidan O’Rourke has been announced as a member of Brian Flanagan’s management team with Kildare for 2025.

Flanagan has been appointed for a four-year term, which is set to be ratified at the September meeting of the Kildare County Board.

Flanagan led Kildare to both Leinster and All-Ireland titles and will succeed Glen Ryan.

O’Rourke, currently the manager of Armagh’s minor team, previously served as assistant manager to Kieran McGeeney during his time with Kildare before joining Paddy Carr as the assistant manager with Donegal in 2023.

When Carr resigned in March of that year, O’Rourke took over as Donegal manager for the remainder of the season until the senior team was eliminated from the championship by Tyrone in June.

After his stint with Donegal, O’Rourke took charge of the Armagh minor team, guiding them to their first All-Ireland final since 2009, where they were narrowly defeated by Derry, who had also beaten Armagh in the Ulster final.
