Donegal manager John McNulty
It has been confirmed that Donegal will play Kildare in the senior championship relegation play-off match on the weekend of July 6/7, while Tipperary will play Laois.
The winners of those two ties will be guaranteed senior championship football for 2025, while the losers will play in a play-off decider the following week.
Donegal are no strangers in facing the Lilywhites, having played them in the second round of the Division 2 league back in January with Kildare defeating Donegal by four points in Letterkenny that afternoon.
Kildare have recently fell to Dublin on a 4-19 to 0-9 point hammering, while Donegal lost out on an All-Ireland quarter-final spot after falling to Waterford in Walsh Park on a 1-10 to 0-7 point scoreline.
However, John McNulty’s side have made massive strides in their campaign despite recording a victory by taking Armagh to the wire in the Ulster final in Clones, while also holding Kerry to a draw in MacCumhaill Park two weeks ago, and no doubt they will want to show a serious fightback and reaction from this weekend’s loss to the Déise when they play Kildare.
