Setanta 1-18
Carndonagh 1-7

Brilliant Bernard Lafferty lit up this classic game of two halves against a gutsy Carndonagh side at the Cross on Friday night.

Lafferty finished with a personal tally of ten points with six of those scores coming from placed balls.

The wind-assisted visitors had a good first-half spurred on by their marksman Cathal Doherty as the home side led by 1-8 to 1-6 at the break with Doherty getting all of Carn’s scores.

Carn got an early goal from Doherty which was negated by a similar effort from Setanta’s Noel Ewing.

But the visitors could only manage one more point in the second half as Setanta, with Danny Cullen playing a half at midfield, having an influence.

Lafferty continued to land the points as did Colm Melaugh, Richie Kee, Dean Harvey and Conor Gallen for an eventual easy win. Danny Monagle got Carn’s sole score in the second half.
