Peadar McGlinchey in action for Red Hughs
Red Hughs 0-11
Naomh Padraig 1-5
Red Hughs landed their first victory of the season on Sunday with a strong final quarter as they kick six unanswered points to edge past Naomh Padraig, who still have yet to register a win in Division 2 this year.
Aaron McGlinchey, Brian Irwin, Colm Melaugh and Jack Bradley all registered points for the home side early on, however, Naomh Padraig came back into the game to leave one point between the teams at the break as both sides marched to the dressing rooms 0-5 to 0-4 for half-time.
Naomh Padraig would hit a purple patch in the second half when Oisin McIntyre slotted home on the 42nd minute after Cormac McColgan broke through the defence and placed the ball across the goal for McIntyre to hit into the net.
This left it 1-5 to 0-5 in favour of the away side, but Red Hughs came back strong in the last 15 minutes to score six unanswered points from Jack and Calvin Bradley to leave the final score Red Hughs 0-11 to Naomh Padraig 1-5.
