From the provisional panels released by the GAA, there are 47 Donegal players involved with the various Sigerson Cup panels with ATU Donegal opening their campaign against DCU on Tuesday in Convoy

Here's all the Donegal footballers taking part in the 2023 Sigerson Cup

Cousins Johnny and Keelan McGroddy from Downings will be on opposite sides on Tuesday when DCU take on ATU Donegal

There will a healthy sprinkling of Donegal footballers taking part in the Sigerson Cup, with eight first round fixtures taking place next week.

ATU Donegal, formerly Letterkenny Institute of Technology, have the bulk of those taking part - 30 from the county and three others - while their opening round opponents on Tuesday at the Donegal Training Centre, Dublin City University, have six.

The ATU panel is: Jack McSharry (Na Cealla Beaga), Blake McGarvey (Cloughaneely) Jonathan Toye (Naomh Padraig), Keelan McGroddy (Na Dunaibh), Fionnan Coyle (Gaoth Dobhair), Beanón Corrigan (Geraldines GFC, Co Louth), Dylan Dorrian (Milford), Conor O'Donnell (Carndonagh), Ferdia Doherty (Naomh Muire), Conor Cannon (Naomh Muire), Ryan McFadden (Termon), Jason McGee (Cloughaneely), Carlos O'Reilly (St Michael’s), Kealan Dunleavey (Glenswilly), Mark McAteer (Gaeil Fhánada), Jack Gallagher (Glenswilly), Michael Leech (Moville), Cian Rooney (Aodh Ruadh), Darragh Mahon (CLG Bhearna, Galway), Aaron Gillooley (Sean MacCumhaill’s), Anthony Doherty (Carndonagh), Rory O'Donnell (Milford), Darragh McMenamin (Red Hughs), Eoin Dowling (St Eunan’s), Daniel Gildea (Naomh Conaill), Conal Mc Dermott (St Mary's, Convoy), Paul O'Hare (Naomh Columba), Jack Gillespie (Red Hughs), Eoin de Burca (Gaoth Dobhair), Kieran Tobin (St Eunan’s), Joel Bradley Walsh (Sean MacCumhaill’s), Ronan Frain (Letterkenny Gaels), Liam Gaughan (Tourlestrane, Sligo).

DCU are armed with Jamie Grant from Termon, St Eunan’s Shane O’Donnell, Ross Marley of Glenfin, Sean MacCumhaill’s Oisin Gallen, Downings’ Johnny McGroddy and Oisin Cannon, who plays for St Michael’s. Naomh Conaill’s Jeaic Mac Ceallabhuí is with UCD.

The winners of ATU Donegal and DCU travel to Ulster University on Tuesday, January 17, while the losers must take on Queen’s away from home.

Caolan McColgan from Naomh Padraig Uisce Chaoin will represent Ulster University

The University of Ulster squad contains Caolan McColgan from Naomh Padraig Uisce Chaoin and Ciaran Moore of St Eunan’s. Moore’s clubmate at O’Donnell Park, Eoin McGeehin, will line up for Queen’s University. St Mary's University College Belfast have Senan Rooney of Aodh Ruadh.

Four Masters’ clubmates Brian Fegan and Richard O’Rourke are with ATU Sligo, alongside Shane McLaughlin from Buncrana and Naomh Colmcille’s Shane Monaghan. ATU Galway have Conor Roarty from Naomh Conaill and Naomh Bríd’s Ryan Brogan.

The Round 1 fixtures see SETU Carlow welcome St Mary's University College this coming Tuesday, while Queen's University Belfast are home to Ulster University, MTU Cork face UCD, while ATU Donegal play DCU. All games have a 7pm start.

Then, on Wednesday at 7pm, TU Dublin face ATU Galway, UCC are home to University of Limerick, ATU Sligo welcome MTU Kerry and University of Galway take on Maynooth University.
