Fianna Fáil's Niall Blaney is out of the running having been eliminated in the 15th count in the Midlands Northwest European election count in Castlebar.

Luke Ming Flanagan, the Independent candidate, looks set to get over the line, 10,000 votes off the quota, with Nina Carberry, Maria Walsh and Barry Cowen next in line and looking good for the first four of the five seats in the consistuency. Independent Ireland’s Ciaran Mullooly is currently fifth. The final count is expected this evening. Counting gets underway again at 9am this morning, with the final count expected tonight.
