Three sitting councillors are contesting the remaining two seats after 100% Redress party tops the poll

Ali Farren(100% Redress)  and Martin McDermott (Fianna Fáil) have been elected on the first count in the four-seat Carndonagh LEA.

Farren topped the poll with 2,253 first preferences while McDermott, who topped the poll in 219,  passed the 1,588 quota with 2,069. He was followed by Martin Farren, Labour, with 1,001 votes,  Albert Doherty, Sinn Féin (996),  Johnny McGuinness, Fine Gael (736), Paul Barry McKinney, non-party (374), Toni Devine, Sinn Féin (262), Donal McKinney, The Irish People (193) and  Michael White, Green Party (55).

The result leaves sitting councillors Martin Farren, Albert Doherty, Johnny McGuinness contesting the last two seats as Ali Farren’s surplus of 665 is redistributed.
