Death notices for Donegal

The following deaths have taken place:

Mark O'Donnell, Donegal Town

The death has taken place of Mark O'Donnell, Sydney, Australia and formerly of O’Maolchonaire Avenue, Donegal Town.

Predeceased by his father Tommy and his brother Gary, Mark will be sadly missed by his loving wife Kylie and his adored children, Grace and Aidan. He will be forever remembered by his mother Mary, his brother Dermot (Annette), his sister Orla McCafferty (Gary), his nephews, Darragh, Conor, Tomás, Luca, Odhrán and his niece Rosie and all his relatives, neighbours and friends.

Mark’s ashes will repose at his beloved mother Mary's residence, 13 O’Maolchonaire Avenue, Donegal Town, F94 X0X8, on Sunday from 12 noon to 9pm.

A Remembrance Mass followed by the burial of ashes will take place on Monday at 11am in St. Mary's Church, Killymard.

Annie McNamee, Ballyshannon

The death has taken place pacefully at home, surrounded by her family, in her 93rd year, or Annie McNamee, Market Street, Ballyshannon.

Predeceased by her husband Peter, her brothers Daniel and Hugh, and her sister Maureen, she is sadly, missed by her daughter Fiona and son Rory, son-in-law Eugene, daughter-in-law Jackie, and her granddaughters Ciara, Niamh and Siobhan; sadly, missed also by her sister Nora, brother Peter, and fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews.

Her remains are reposing at her residence on Saturday from 2pm and on Sunday from 2pm.

Funeral arriving to St Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon on Monday for 11am funeral Mass with burial afterwards in Abbey Assaroe Cemetery, Ballyshannon. Annie’s Funeral Mass can be viewed on the church webcam 

Eileen Dundas, Cloghan, Stranorlar and Glagow

The death has taken place at her home of Eileen Dundas Brockagh Cloghan and formerly of Admiran Stranorlar and Glasgow.

Devoted wife to her late husband John and beloved mother to her only son Martin, and mother-in-law to Tom, predeceased by her daughter Shonagh; cherished grandmother to John Paul, Anton, Christopher, Declan, and Samantha. Eileen was a very proud great-grandmother to Jessica, Anthony, Luca, Kenzie, Khalisa, Evelina, Alaya, Jalen,and JC May, and a very dear friend to many far and near.

Siobhán Brady, Ballybofey

The death has occurred at St Joseph’s Community Hospital, Stranorlar of Siobhán Brady, 8 Blackrock Drive, Ballybofey.

Beloved daughter of the late Alex and Delia, much loved sister of Philomena, Lelia, Michael, Alexander (Katie) and Gerard. Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by her brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Her remains are reposing at Mc Cool’s Funeral Home, Ballybofey on Friday from 6pm to 9pm. Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Funeral leaving from there on Saturday at 11am for cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 1.30pm

Bernadette Britton, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Bernadette Britton, Railway park, Donegal Town. She passed away peacefully in the care of the exceptional Donegal Community Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her parents Kevin and Joan Britton, brother Donal, sister Cabrini, baby granddaughter Skye, she is sadly missed by her daughter Joanne Enright (John), son Adam Enright (Aisling), sisters Annette Myers (Dave), Mary McElwee, grandchildren Julie, Liam, Hayden, Hailey, daughter-in-law Emma, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Bernadette’s remains are reposing at Tír Conaíll Funeral Home, Drumrooske, Donegal Town, F94 FX3A from 1pm until 7.30pm Friday. Removal to St Patrick’s Church, Donegal Town at 7.30pm for 8pm to reside overnight.

Requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church Donegal Town on Saturday at 11am with burial immediately afterwards in Clar graveyard.

Family flowers only please donations in lieu of flowers to Donegal Community Hospital patient comfort fund in memory of Bernadette.

Darren Jones, Ballybofey

The death has occurred at the Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny of Darren Jones, 73 Blue Cedars, Ballybofey. F93 Y7F3.

Much loved father to Eve- Marie, Darren Lee, and Liana, devoted son of Eve, dearly lovd grandfather to Daisy, cherished brother of Graham, Paul, Mark and the late Damian. Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by his mother, son, daughters, brothers, grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Funeral leaving his home on Friday at 9.30am for 10am Requiem Mass in the Church of Mary immaculate, Stranorlar. followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan. The Requiem Mass can be viewed live on the church webcam 

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu of flowers if so desired directly to the Donegal Hospice at  or care of any family member.
