The following deaths have taken place:

Mary Patricia (Pat) Brady, Cavan and Glenties


The death has occurred of Mary Patricia (Pat) Brady (née Breslin) Carnagh Upper, Kilcogy, Cavan and formerly, Glenties.

She passed away peacefully at Cavan General Hospital on March 18, surrounded by her loving family, in her 90th year.

Predeceased by her Parents, James and Bridget, brothers Bernard and Neily.

Pat will be very sadly missed by her heartbroken family, husband John, sons Johnny, James and Neil, her adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters Joan, Evelyn, Una and Caroline, daughters-in-law Brenda and Carmel, Sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews relatives and a large circle of friends and neighbours.

House private please. Removal to St. Mary’s Church, Bruskey, Cavan (H12XO67) on Monday, March 23 arriving at 6pm.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 12 noon with interment afterwards in Mullaghboy Cemetery.

Mary Leavy, Milford and Clonmany

The death has taken place in Letterkenny University Hospital of Mary Leavy (née Diver), 4 Moyle View, Milford and formerly Mindoran, Clonmany.

Deeply regretted by her adored son Ryan, sister Christina (Martin), brothers Denis (Julie), Liam and Brendan (Eileen), nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by her husband Anthony.

Reposing at the residence of her sister Christina Diver, Mindoran, Clonmany, from 4pm on Friday, March 20.

House is private to family only.

Removal from there on Saturday at 3:30pm, to St Peter’s Church, Milford, arriving at 5pm for prayers and to repose overnight.

Funeral Mass on Sunday at 11am.

Interment afterwards in Tully Cemetery.

Joe Mulligan, Derrynamansher

The peaceful death has taken place of Joe Mulligan, at his home in Derrynamansher.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his brother Paddy (Bridie), Gráinne and Mairead, his nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Joe will repose at McGlynn’s Funeral Home, Dungloe, (F94 ND68) on Friday, March 20 from 4pm.

Rosary at 8pm followed by removal to his family home in Derrynamansher.

Reposing at his home in Derrynamansher (F94 C5D8) on Saturday, March 21 from 12 noon, with Rosary at 8pm.

Funeral Mass on Sunday, 22nd March at 1pm in St Mary’s Star of the Sea Church, Annagry, (F94 KO22) followed by burial afterwards in the Old Graveyard, Annagry.

Family time after the Rosary and on the morning of the funeral.

Family flowers only, please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to Dungloe Community Hospital.

Philomena Chambers, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Philomena Chambers, 20 O'Cleirigh Ave, Donegal Town.

She passed away peacefully in Sligo University Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Joseph.

Sadly missed by her loving her sons Paul(Christine) Barry(Caroline), daughter Gillian(Darren), grandchildren, nieces nephews neighbours friends and extended family.

Philomena’s remains will repose in Tír Conaíll Funeral Home, Drumrooske, Donegal Town, F94 FX3A from 1pm until 7.30pm on Friday, March 20 with removal to St Mary’s Church, Killymard for 8pm to reside overnight.

Requiem Mass on Saturdayat 11am in St Mary’s Church, Killymard with burial immediately afterwards in adjoining graveyard.

George Fleming, Carrigart

The peaceful death has taken place of George Fleming, Carrigart F92 D578.

Sadly missed by his wife Anita, and children, Marie, June, Michael, Patrick and Martin, and grandchildren, Mark and Aoibhinn.

His remains will be reposing at his late residence on Thursday from 12pm, with Rosary at 8pm.

Family time on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass on Friday at 12pm in St John the Baptist Church, Carrigart with interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Mass can be viewed on the Mevagh Parish Facebook Page.

There will be a shuttle bus available from Carrigart Hotel (main car park) to the wake house on Thursday from 5pm to 8pm.

Thomas Alcock, Mountcharles and Kildare

The death has take place of Thomas (Tommy) Alcock of Dromore, Mountcharles, (F94 RP21), formerly of Rockville Centre, New York, and Athy, Co Kildare.

He passed away on March 18, peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents, Richard and Kathleen, and his brothers, Richie and Liam.

He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife, Kathleen; his sons, Thomas and Patrick; and his daughter Kathleen; his son-in-law, Patrick; and his daughters-in-law, Nicole and Farida.

He will be fondly remembered by his cherished grandchildren, Caoimhe, Ciallí, Andrea, Jack, Paddy, Creegan, Fara, Alexis, Madison, Jack, McKenzie, Krew, Olivia, and Neave, who all adored him; and by his brother, Christy, and his sisters, Junie, Kathleen, and Margaret.

Remains will be reposing at his late residence on Thursday, March 19 from 2pm until 8pm. 

Removal from there on Friday, March 20 going to St Mary’s Church, Killymard, (F94 EA22) for 11am Funeral Mass, with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

Pat Harvey, Mountcharles and Limerick

The death has taken place of Pat Harvey, Tankardstown, Kilmallock, Co. Limerick and formerly of Mountcharles, Co Donegal, and The Sandvilles Band.

He passed away unexpectedly but very peacefully on St Patrick's Day, March 17, 2026.

Predeceased by his beloved, long-term soul mate Rose. Sorrowfully missed and fondly remembered by Rose's family, very kind neighbours, his many friends and music colleagues countrywide and the many people he entertained with music over the years.

Reposing on Friday, March 20 from 6pm at Daffy's Funeral Home, Kilmallock followed by evening prayers at 7.30pm.

Removal to arrive Saturday for 11am Requiem Mass at Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Kilmallock, followed by burial afterwards to the New Cemetery, Athlacca .

Sarah Doherty, Buncrana

The death has taken place in her 95th year in Donegal Hospice of Sarah Doherty (Leenan), 69 Cockhill Park, Buncrana, F93 NT9W.

Predeceased by her husband Dan. Deeply saddened by Sarah’s passing are daughters Anne Marie (Tony) and Noleen (Barry), and 4 grandchildren Ryan, Shannon, Adam, Erin; wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at her late residence where all are welcome to pay their respects.

Funeral leaving there at 10.30am on Friday, March 20 going to St Mary’s Church, Cockhill for Requiem Mass at 11am with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Bridget Doak, Creeslough

The peaceful death has taken place of Bridget Doak (née Curran) of Ards, Creeslough (F92 D1W0) in her home while being cared for by her family.

Much loved and sorely missed by her husband John, children Sean (Trista & Ava), Stephen (Tríona), Melissa and Daniel (Fabiana).

Her siblings Grace (Tommy), Margaret (James), Jim (Kim), Mary (George), Rose (Andy), nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

Pre-deceased by her parents John and Maggie Curran.

Her remains will be reposing at her late residence on Thursday and Friday from 11am to 10pm.

Funeral Mass in St Michael’s Church, Creeslough on Saturday at 11.00 am, burial afterwards in Doe Cemetery.

Josie McCann, Burnfoot

The death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital of Josie McCann, No. 2, The Cottages, Burnfoot.

Predeceased by his loving wife Mary, son Brendan and brother Paddy.

Deeply regretted and will be forever missed by his loving sons and daughters, Annemarie, Sean, Patrick, Louise, Paula and Donna; his brother Michael, grandchildren, great-grandchild, wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Josie’s remains will be reposing at his home on Wednesday, March 18 from 11.00am, where are all welcome to pay respects.

Removal from there on Friday at 10.15am to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Inch Island for Requiem Mass at 11.00am followed by interment in the adjoining graveyard.

Family time please from 9.00pm to 11.00am.

Sinead McGinley, Killybegs

The sudden death has occurred of Sinead McGinley, Leeds and formerly of the Five Points, Killybegs, County Donegal

Predeceased by her mother Mona, brothers Aidan and Anthony, Sinead will be sadly missed by her beloved father Pat (Padraig), brother Pauric, sister Jess-ann, partner Helen, stepson Carrick, nephews Brandon, Alex, Feidhlim and Noah, and all of her family and friends.
