Death notices and funeral arrangements for Donegal on Sunday morning, March 1

The following deaths have taken place:

- Daniel McCarthy, Maynooth and Bundoran

- Stephen Corbett, Buncrana 

- Charles McGee, Falcarragh

- John Collins, Derry and Manorcunningham

- Marie Dillon, Limerick, Clare and Donegal Town

- Enda Drummond, Ballyshannon

- Frank Blaney, Dublin and Letterkenny

Daniel McCarthy, Maynooth and Bundoran

The death has occurred of Daniel McCarthy, Laurence Avenue, Maynooth and formerly of Bundoran and  Newbridge, Co Kildare.

He passed away  peacefully at The Residence Nursing Home, Maynooth, surrounded by his loving family. 

Pre-deceased by his loving wife Mary, parents Paddy and Mary, brothers Padraig and Declan and sister Kathleen. 

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his children Ronan, Lorna and Donal, friend Pat, daughters-in-law Sam, Aline, Suzie and Mary, son-in-law Paul, adored grandchildren Jodie, Abi, Louis and Sophie, brothers Luke, Gerard, Paul and Mark, sisters Gaye, Betty and Mary, Aunt Monica, nieces, nephews, extended family and a large circle of friends. Danny was the much-loved Lead Singer with Fiddlers Green and will be fondly remembered for his music, voice and friendship by all who knew him.

 Reposing at Oliver Reilly's Funeral Home, Leinster St., Maynooth (W23V99E) on Wednesday, March 4 from 4pm - 8pm, with evening prayers at 7:30pm.

 Removal from the Funeral Home on Thursday at approximately 10.30am to arrive at St. Mary's Church, Maynooth for 11am Funeral Mass, followed by cremation in Newlands Cross Crematorium at approximately 1pm.

Stephen Corbett, Buncrana 

The death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital of Stephen Corbett, 9 Cockhill Road, Buncrana and formerly of Limerick City.

Loving partner of Janet Dunne and dear father of James and Robert.

Deeply regretted and will be forever missed by his loving partner, sons, grandchildren, partner’s sons, extended family and friends.

Removal from Murphy’s Funeral Home (F93PW96) on Monday, March 2 at 5.00pm to his late residence.

Stephen’s remains will be reposing from 7.00pm, where you are all welcome to pay your respects.

Removal from there on Tuesday at 10.30am to St. Mary’s Church, Cockhill for Requiem Mass at 11.00am, followed by removal to Thompson’s Funeral Home, Limerick City.

Requiem Mass can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/cockhill.

Family time please from 10.00pm and on the morning of the funeral.

Charles McGee, Falcarragh

The peaceful death has taken place in Donegal Hospice of Charles McGee (Cha Jack), Ballyboes, Falcarragh, Co. Donegal.

Predeceased by his parents Jack and Katie, brothers John and Danny, sister Kathleen, and granddaughter Amelia Grace.

Survived and sadly missed by his loving wife Grace, daughter Caroline (Gary), four sons John (Tammy), Stephen (Rachael), Cathal (Marion), Kevin (Sinead), fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, his brother Owenie, brother-in-law Brian and all his nieces and nephews.

Wake on Sunday, March 1 from 12 noon until 9pm with rosary taking place afterwards at 9pm.

House private for family time after the rosary and also on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral mass will take place on Monday, 2nd of March, at 1pm in Teach Phobail Naomh Fionán, Falcarragh Church, Co. Donegal, F92 N679.

Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

John Collins, Derry and Manorcunningham

The death has taken place peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, of John Collins, Gelvin Grange, Waterside, Derry, BT47 2LD and Manorcunningham, Donegal.

Beloved husband of Martina, devoted father of Stacey, Ryan and Amber, father-in-law of Tristiana and dear brother of Gerard, Kathy, Anthony and Yvonne.

John's remains are reposing in his home, 35 Gelvin Grange, Waterside, Derry. Family time please from 10 pm to 11 am.

Funeral from there on Monday at 10.30am for 11am Requiem Mass in The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Trench Road. Interment will take place afterwards in St Columba’s Cemetery, Drumaghill. 

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if wished, to Dementia NI.

Marie Dillon, Limerick, Clare and Donegal Town

The death has taken place of Marie Dillon, née Crawford, Clareview, Limerick and formerly of Cratloe and Donegal Town. Marie passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family and in the excellent care of the staff of Four Ferns Nursing home in Foxrock, Dublin.

Beloved wife of the late Joe, dearly loved mother of Antoinette, Pauline, Patrick, David and Anna-Marie. She is sadly missed by her daughters-in-laws Ann and Carol, sons-in-laws John, Joe and Moss. Marie was the very proud granny of David, Mark, Claire, Katie, Andrea, Gillian, Jonathan, Sarah, Ryan, Rachel, Jack and Laila. Fondly remembered by her sisters and brothers Noelle, Martin, Rita, Goretti, David and Paul, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family, many wonderful friends and neighbours. She is predeceased by sister Anna and brother Gerry.

Her remains are arriving to St John's Church, Cratloe, County Clare, V95 CF44 for Requiem Mass at 1pm on Monday with burial afterwards in Craughaun cemetery, Cratloe.

No flowers please. Donations, if desired to a charity of your choice.

Enda Drummond, Ballyshannon

The sudden death has taken place peacefully at Beaumont Hospital of Enda Drummond, Finner, Ballyshannon.

Predeceased by his loving parents Eddie and Philippine, Enda is sadly missed by his brother Kieran (Frances) and sister Frances (John), his nephew Eugene (Louise) and his nieces Sarah (Shane) and Eve and his godson Adam and all extended family and friends.

His remains are reposing at John McGee & Sons Funeral Home, Belleek Road, Ballyshannon, F94ED21 on Sunday from 4pm to 8pm. House private at all times please.

Removal on Monday from his brother Kieran's residence to St Joseph's Church, The Rock, for 11.30am Mass with burial afterwards in The Abbey Cemetery. Funeral Mass will be live streamed on John McGee & Sons Funeral Directors and Funeral Home Facebook page

Family flowers only, donations in lieu if so desired to Irish Haemophilia Society c/o John McGee & sons Funeral Directors or any family member.

Frank Blaney, Dublin and Letterkenny

The death has taken place of Frank Blaney, Deansgrange, Dublin and formerly Wolfe Tone Place, Letterkenny. He passed away peacefully in the care of all the staff at St Vincent’s University Hospital, after excellent care at Belmont Nursing Home.

Beloved husband of Marian and devoted father of Helen, Suzanne, Denise, Frankie, Marian, Patrick and Seán, he will be sadly missed by his wife, children, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren John, Blaney, Joseph and Iveagh, his sister, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

His remains are reposing at his home on Sunday from 3pm to 5pm.

Funeral on Monday in the Church of the Holy Family, Kill Avenue arriving at 10.45am for an 11am Mass followed by private cremation.

Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to the Society of St Vincent de Paul, a charity close to his heart.
