Death notices for Donegal on Sunday morning

The following deaths have taken place:

Lilyan Holmes, Killybegs

The peaceful death has occurred of Lilyan Holmes, née Melly, formerly of The Hill, Killybegs. She passed away peacefully at her home in Edmonds, Seattle, USA surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her infant son Noel and her parents John and Rosaleen, she will be sadly missed by her husband John, sons John (Kate) and Michael, her grandchildren, Jack, John Victor, Freddie and Niamh, her brothers and sisters, Michael, Faustina (Hughie), Fiona and Shane, her much loved Nieces and Nephews, extended family and friends.

Requiem Mass to be held in St Mary of the Visitation Church Killybegs on Thursday at 7pm.

Veronica Behan, Carrigart and Dublin, UK and Canada

The death has taken place of Veronica Behan, née McDarby, Gortnabrade, Carrigart and formerly London, Ontario and Shantalla Road, Whitehall, Dublin. She passed away surrounded by her loving family in the excellent care of the staff of the Donegal Hospice.

Predeceased by her loving husband Kevin, brothers and sisters, she will be greatly missed and remembered by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Her remains will arrive at Frank Jennings undertaker Greendale Road, Foxfield, Dublin 5 for repose on Tuesday from 2pm to pm.

Funeral Mass at The Church of The Holy Child, Whitehall on Wednesday at 11am.

Bernard Browne, Bundoran and Mayo

The death has taken place of Bernard (Grandad) Browne, Whitemaple Drive, Church Road, Bundoran, and formerly of Ballycastle, County Mayo. He passed away peacefully after a short illness in the excellent care of all at Ballyshannon Community Nursing Unit.

Predeceased by his wife Violet, his parents, his brothers and sisters, and his daughter-in-law Laura; forever remembered and sadly missed by his loving son Gerard, his adored granddaughter Aóise and all his nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and extended family and friends.

His remains will repose at Breslin’s Funeral Home, West End, Bundoran, F94 E92F,  on Monday from 5pm to 7pm. All welcome.

Removal from the Funeral Home at 10.40am on Tuesday to arrive at the Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea, Bundoran for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am. Removal afterwards to Lakeland’s Crematorium, Cavan for a committal service at 4pm followed by cremation. Mass can be viewed live on www.magheneparish.ie

Francie Frank Friel, Portsalon

The death has taken place peacefully in Áras Uí Dhomhnaill Nursing Home, Milford, of Francie Frank Friel, Steafán), Cashelprehan, Portsalon, F92 E5R9.

Deeply regretted by his loving family, Caroline (Colin), Katrina (Art), Christopher, Jason (Laura), Alan (Jacqui), Michelle and Dessie, grandchildren, brother John, sister-in-law Margaret, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, He is predeceased by his wife Violet, brothers Denis and James and sister Annie.

His remains are reposing at his home from 4pm on Sunday.

Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11am in St Columba’s Church, Massmount. Burial will take place afterwards in Massmount Cemetery.

Family flowers only, donations if desired to Áras Uí Dhomhnaill Residents’ Comfort Fund, c/o any family member.

Bridie Kernan, Newtowncunningham and Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Bridie Kernan, née Dawson, Newtowncunningham, and formerly of Mount Southwell, Letterkenny.

Bridie will be sadly missed by her loving husband Seamus, her daughter Adrienne (predeceased by Adriano), her sons Anthony (Breid), Barry (Rosaleen), and Mark (Annette), and her daughter Maria (Vincent). She will be fondly remembered by her cherished grandchildren Lucca, Francesca, Laura, James, Jessica, Daniella, Owen, Olivia, Peter, Christian and Daniela.

Her remains will repose at the family home until removal to All Saints Church, Newtowncunningham, for Requiem Mass at 12 noon on Tuesday. House private to family only, at the request of the deceased.

Patrick Michael Gallen, Clonmany

The death has taken place at his home of Patrick Michael Gallen, Main Street, Clonmany, former postmaster, Clonmany post office.

Predeceased by his wife Brid, née McFadden, loving father of Megan (Mickey) and Michael, brother of Gerard, Anne and Emer.

House private on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral leaving from there Sunday at 2.15pm, going to St Mary's Church, Clonmany for requiem Mass at 2.30pm, with burial afterwards in the new cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to Friends of Inishowen Hospice, c/o any family member or Comiskey Funeral Directors.

Peter Campbell, Glenties

The death has taken place in Letterkenny University Hospital of Peter Campbell, Silverhill, Glenties, F94VP66.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife Susan, son Cathal, daughters Mary Rose (Brian), Philomena, Siobhan (John), Eileen (Colm) and Gráinne, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Peter is predeceased by his parents Charlie and Róise, his sister Mary Brigid and Susie Ann, his brother Charlie and infant brother. 

Family time on the morning of the funeral.

Requiem Mass on Sunday at 1.30pm in The Church of The Holy Family, Edeninfagh, with burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.
