Death notices for Donegal on Monday evening

The following deaths have taken place:

Joe O'Donnell, Jersey and Gortahork

Fuair Joe Ó Domhnaill bás tobann i St Helier, Jersey, ar an Aoine 28ú Meitheamh 2025, aois 51.

The death has occurred suddenly on June 28 of Joe O’Donnell, St Helier, Jersey, and formerly of Ardsmore, Gortahork, Co. Donegal.

Predeceased by his loving parents Bernard and Gracie O’Donnell, he is sadly missed by his brothers David McNally and David O’Donnell, sisters Julie and Marianne O’Donnell, his nieces and nephews, Fionn, Naincí, Gracie, Úna, Sally, Maureen, Daphne and Oscar. Brothers- and sister-in-law Brian, John and Abi, extended family, neighbours, work colleagues and a wide circle of friends in Jersey and Donegal.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.

Roy Bell, St Johnston

The peaceful death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Roy Bell, Drumatoland, St Johnston, F93Y472

Roy will be deeply missed by his loving wife Jemma, sons Ross (Melisa), Alistair (Maggie) Kyle (Alison), daughters Sharon, Joanne (Declan) and Lisa (Damien) also his grandchildren, extended family, neighbours and friends.

His remains are reposing at his late residence on Monday from 6pm to 10pm and on Tuesday from 12noon to 10pm. Family time on the morning of the funeral please. 

Funeral leaving from his home on Wednesday at 2.15pm for 3pm Service of Thanksgiving in Ray Presbyterian Church, Manorcunningham, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Family flowers only, donations in lieu if desired to the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland, care of any family member or Terence McClintock Funeral director.

Mary Gallinagh, Ballybofey

The peaceful death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital surrounded by her loving family, of Mary Gallinagh, née Kelly, Curraghamone, Ballybofey and formerly of Corgary Road, Aghyaran.

Mary will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Peadar, daughters Breda (Darryl), Roisin (John), Carmel (Damian), Aisling (Stephen) and son Martin (Michelle), grandchildren Garvan, Charlotte, Ciarán, Niall, Shay, Meabh, Dylan, Ava, new baby twins Lillia and Lucia, Imelda, Eoghan, Laura, Alana and Cormac. She will be deeply missed by her brothers Joe, Hugh and John James, sisters Bridie and Rosaleen, her wider family circle, neighbours and friends.

Her remains are reposing at her late residence. The house is strictly private please, at the request of the deceased.

Funeral leaving from there on Wednesday at 10.15am going to St Mary’s Church, Stranorlar for 11am Requiem Mass followed by burial in Drumboe Cemetery. Everyone is welcome to attend the funeral.

Phelim Mc Gill, Carrick

The peaceful death has occurred of Phelim Mc Gill, Straleel, Carrick.

He is sadly missed by his loving wife Ann, His Children, Philomena (Conor), Barry, Grainne, Phelim and Aidan (Emma), his brother Gerard, his sisters, Mary Service (Andy), Kathleen Gorman and Martina Byrne (Joe), his son-in-law Raymond Mc Cabe, his nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours. Phelim will be forever remembered and cherished by his loving grandchildren, Jessica, Ailbhe, Evelyn, Ryan, Aoibhinn, Katie Ann and Meabh. Phelim is predeceased by his parents, Mary and Con, his brothers John, Conal and his sister Teresa,

Phelim's remains will repose at his residence on Monday from 12 noon until 11pm and on Tuesday from 11am until 11pm, with rosary at 10pm. House private on the morning of the Funeral.

Removal from his residence on Wednesday, going to St Patrick's Church, Meenaneary for 12 noon Mass with burial afterwards in Carrick Cemetery.

Family flowers only, donations if desired to Donegal hospice c/o Mc Cabe Funeral Directors.

Radine Hamilton, Ballintra

The death has occurred of Radine Hamilton, Brownhall, Ballintra.

Predeceased by her loving husband John, she is deeply regretted by her sons James and Edward, daughter-in-law Adriana, and grandson John.

House private please.

Funeral service in Drumholm Parish Church, Ballintra, Wednesday at 2pm, followed by burial in Laghey Parish Church graveyard.

Gavin Burke, Newtowncunningham

The death has taken place of Gavin Burke, Moneygreggan, Newtowncunningham, Donegal, F93 K44E. He passed away peacefully in the caring hands of the staff in the Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny, surrounded by loving family.

Treasured son and sadly missed by his parents Annette and Martin, brothers Gary, Brian (Grace), Shane (Caroline), Martin (Neasa), twin sisters Elaine (Frankie) and Edel (Keith) and Dearbhla. Deeply regretted by nieces Alisha, Olivia, Zoey, Ava, Halle and Sofia, nephews Harry, Matthew, Luke Frankie, Charlie and Clarke. Always remembered by his wide circle of family, friends and neighbours.

Reposal of Gavin's remains continues at his late residence Moneygreggan, Newtowncunningham, on Monday from 12 noon to 10pm, with Rosary at 9pm. Family time please on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass in All Saints Church Newtowncunningham on Tuesday at 12noon followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Mass can be viewed here

Family flowers only, donations in lieu to the Oncology unit, Letterkenny University hospital or Donegal Hospice c/o any family member or Charlie Mc Clafferty Funeral Director Churchill / Letterkenny.

Condy Campbell, Glenties

The peaceful death has taken place of Condy Campbell, Greenans, Glenties, F94 F822.

Condy is predeceased by his wife Sara, brother Micháel, Charlie, Paddy, Peadar and sisters Annie, Mary and Susan. He is deeply regretted and sadly missed by The Campbell and Cannon families, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.

Condy's remains are reposing at his residence with Rosary at 9pm. Removal on Monday to The Church of the Holy Family, Edeninfagh, Glenties, to arrive for 7pm for prayers and to repose overnight.

Requiem Mass at 12 noon on Tuesday, with burial afterwards in Edeninfagh Cemetery.
