Edward Russell, Glen and Creeslough

The sudden death has taken place of Edward Russell, Gleneraugh, Glen, (F92DY2W) and formerly Brockas, Creeslough, Co. Donegal.

Sadly missed by his loving family, his children Lauren (grandson Cillian), Ellie-May, Jamie, Lydia and Jesse, wife Joanne, his parents George and Mary Teresa Russell (Brockas, Creeslough) his sisters Yvonne and Lorraine (Seamie). His beloved niece and nephew Lauryn Russell, Reece O’Donnell (Ellie) and their daughter Willow. Deeply regretted by his Grandmother Mary Gamble and all his Aunties and Uncles. Predeceased by his Grandparents Edward and Jane Russell and Grandfather Carl Gamble.

Viewing will take place at the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny on Monday, July 2025 from 6pm to 8pm.
Followed by removal to Gleneraugh, Glen, (F92DY2W) No wake. House strictly private, for family only.


Private cremation will take place at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan (H12 RF78) on Wednesday, July 9 at 4pm. Family only please. Family flowers only please.

Joseph Logue,  Letterkenny and Cloghan

The death has occurred of Joseph Logue, 9 Dún Ard, Kiltoy, Letterkenny and formerly from Ballykerrigan, Cloghan.

Joseph will repose at the home of his Granny, Anna May Bonar, in Ballykerrigan, Cloghan (F93 EH74) from 12 noon on Monday, july 7.

Requiem Mass at 12 noon on Tuesday, July, 8 in The Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Glenfin, with burial afterwards in Cill Mhuire Cemetery.

The funeral mass can be viewed on the parish webcam.

Rosary at 9 pm on Monday evening, with family time from after the Rosary and on the morning of the funeral.

A SHUTTLE BUS WILL OPERATE FROM THE REELIN BAR CAR PARK during the wake.

Family flowers only please.

Donations in lieu if desired to The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, c/o any family member.

Joseph is predeceased by his Pappy John Bonar.

Deeply regretted and lovingly missed by his mother Margaret, stepdad Neil, sisters Fiona (Shaun), Anne Marie (John) and Louise, nephew Charlie and niece Rosie Mae, his Granny Anna May Bonar, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, close friends and neighbours.

The death has occurred suddenly on June 28 of Joe O’Donnell, St Helier, Jersey, and formerly of Ardsmore, Gortahork, Co. Donegal.

Predeceased by his loving parents Bernard and Gracie O’Donnell, he is sadly missed by his brothers David McNally and David O’Donnell, sisters Julie and Marianne O’Donnell, his nieces and nephews, Fionn, Naincí, Gracie, Úna, Sally, Maureen, Daphne and Oscar. Brothers- and sister-in-law Brian, John and Abi, extended family, neighbours, work colleagues and a wide circle of friends in Jersey and Donegal.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.

Spencer Sherwin, Barnesmore

The death has occurred suddenly at home, of Spencer Sherwin, Milltown, Barnesmore.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Catriona, Mum Dianne, Brother Paul and extended family.

Spencer’s remains will repose in Tír Conaíll Funeral Home, Drumrooske, Donegal Town, F94 FX3A on Saturday, July 12 from 5pm until 9pm. House private at all times please.

Funeral service in Lough Eske Church of Ireland, Drumnacarry, Barnesmore, F94 K400 Sunday, July 13 at 2.30pm followed by private cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

Family flowers only.

Philomena Murphy, Magheragallon and England

The recent death has taken place of Matilda Philomena (Mena) Murphy, née Dunlop, originally of Magheragallon, County Donegal. In her 98th year, Mena passed away peacefully in the presence of family members and under the care of staff at Darlington Memorial Hospital, on Monday, June 23.

Predeceased by her husband Pat, brothers and sisters John, James, Hughie, Paddy, Joe, Kevin, Grace, Jessie and Nora, she is sadly missed by her sister Mary in Australia and children Sean, Deirdre, Michael, Kathleen, Gerard and Adrian, grandchildren, great-grandchild, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass at 12 Noon, Thursday in St Augustine's RC Church, Darlington.

Rita Condon, Dublin and Donegal

The peaceful death has taken place of Rita Condon, née McFadden, Blackrock, Dublin and formerly Donegal.

Beloved wife of the late Gerry and much loved mother of Justin and Isabel, Rita will be greatly missed by her sister Kathleen and her extended family and friends.

Her remains are reposing at Quinn's of Glasthule on Monday from 4pm to 6pm.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 10am in St Bridgid’s Church, Cabinteely followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery. Mass can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/cabinteely

Natalie and Ella McLaughlin, Carndonagh

The tragic deaths have taken place of Natalie McLaughlin and her 6-year-old daughter Ella McLaughlin, Pound Street, Carndonagh.

Much-loved mother and sister of Rhea-Rose and cherished daughter and granddaughter of Joanne and Danny and adored sister and niece of Lara, Tiarnan and Ryan. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by their grandparents and great-grandparents, Lynn and Anthony Noone and Margaret and Hugh McLaughlin, Natalie’s partner Tyrone, nieces and nephews, wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Ella’s and Natalie’s remains will repose on Sunday from 1pm until 9pm at the home of Natalie’s parents Joanne and Danny McLaughlin, Church Road, Carndonagh, F93 HY8V where everyone is welcome to pay their respects. All other times are private including the morning of the funeral.

Funeral from there on Monday at 11.15am for 12pm Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Carndonagh followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Funeral mass can be viewed live on www.carndonaghparish.com

Tony Clerkin, Letterkenny

The death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital of Tony Clerkin, The Glebe, Letterkenny.

Predeceased by his parents Peter and Joan, brother Barrie and sister Audrey, he is sadly missed by his wife Janice, sons Anthony and Paul (Zinko), daughter Lynne (Martin), sisters, Val (John) and Maureen (John), brothers-in-law Dermot and Barry, sister-in-law Carol, grandchildren Caitlin and Billy, nieces, nephews, neighbours and many friends.

Reposal of his remains continues at the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny, F92 XE35 on Sunday from 5pm to 7pm, where you are most welcome to pay your respects, concluding with removal to St Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny for Reception Prayers at 7.30pm.

Requiem Mass on Monday which can be viewed at www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

Patrick Doherty, Rathmullan

The death has taken place of Patrick Doherty, Main Street, Rathmullan. He passed away peacefully in the caring hands of the staff in the Donegal Hospice.

Predeceased by his wife Sadie, Patrick will be sadly missed by his loving family, daughter Patricia, Geraldine and Carmel, son Kevin, sister Maryanne Canning, daughter in-law Josephine, sons in-law Kieran and Niall and his adored grandchildren Keelin and Eve.

Reposal of Patrick's remains continues at his home from 7pm to 9pm on Sunday. Family time please on the morning of the funeral.

Requiem Mass on Monday at 2pm in St Joseph's Church, Rathmullan followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. 

Brendan McDade, Ballindrait and Dublin

The death has occurred of Brendan McDade, Ballindrait, and formerly of Eccles St, Dublin, and England.

Deeply regretted by his sisters Madeline and Jacqueline and his brother Tony. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews in Ireland and England, his brothers-in-law, and his wonderful neighbours Aisling, Matthew and family.

Cremation service will take place at Lakelands Crematorium on Monday at 12 noon.

Sue Yaciuk O'Connor, Waterford and Gweedore

The death has taken place of Sue Yaciuk O'Connor, née O’Flaherty, Grange Cove, Dunmore Road, Waterford City, Waterford and formerly of Gweedore. Sue passed away suddenly at home, in the presence of her loving family.

Predeceased by her beloved parents Peter and Ellen, step-dad Leonard and her sister June, she is deeply mourned and sadly missed by her loving husband Eamon and children Peter and Jim. She will be fondly remembered by her brother Mark, extended family and friends.

Her remains will repose at Tom Hennessy’s Funeral Home, Johnstown, Waterford, 91 FW4A on Monday from 6pm to 7.30pm with prayers at 7pm. 

A private cremation will follow.
