Death notices for Donegal on Friday evening

The following deaths have taken place:

- Mary McMahon, Muff

- Rose O'Brien, Cavan and Buncrana

- Kathleen Martin, Wicklow and Ballybofey

- Jacqueline Devenney, St Johnston

- Alice McDaid, Newtowncunningham

Mary McMahon, Muff

The death has occurred at Buncrana Community Hospital of Mary McMahon, née Doherty, Drumhaggart, Muff, F93 DX59 and formerly Castlequarter, Inch Island and Dublin.

Predeceased by her husband William, brothers and sisters Charlie, Columba, Dominick, Angela, Philomena and Harry Leo, much loved mother of Liam, Mairead, Peter and Una, loving sister of Patrick, Margaret, John and Dolores. Mary will be sadly missed by her loving daughters, sons, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, extended family and friends.

Mary's remains will be reposing at her home on Saturday evening from 5pm where you are all welcome to pay your respects. Family time please from 10pm to 2pm.

Removal from there on Monday morning at 10.15am to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Inch Island for requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining graveyard. Requiem mass can be viewed on Youtube Fahan Parish.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to Buncrana Community Hospital Patients Comfort Fund c/o any family member.

Rose O'Brien, Cavan and Buncrana

The death has taken place peacefully at Lisdarn Care Unit Cavan after a long illness bravely borne, of Rose O'Brien, née Bradley, 30 Doon Heights, Ballyconnell, Cavan and formerly of Buncrana.

Predeceased by her parents Madge and Bernard, sisters Patricia, Mary and Maeve, she is sadly missed by her loving husband Tomás, son Fergus (Claire), daughters Ciara (Liam), Orla (Michael), brother Danny, grandchildren Kate and Tommy, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Her remains are reposing at Lawlor's funeral home, Erne Hill, Belturbet, H14 R583 on Saturday from 5pm until 7pm. House private to family and friends only please.

Funeral arriving at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Ballyconnell on Sunday for Funeral Mass at 11.30am, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The funeral mass can be viewed here

Kathleen Martin, Wicklow and Ballybofey

The death has taken place of Kathleen Martin, née Mc Crudden, of O’Neill Park, Newtownmountkennedy, County Wicklow and formerly Aughavoy, Ballybofey. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones after a short illness, in the comfort of her own home in her 94th year.

Beloved wife and best friend of the late Jack; remembered with love by her devoted family, daughters Denise and Anna, sons-in-law Martin Commons and Michael Doherty, sister Eileen Lowe, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Her remains are reposing at her home.

Removal on Saturday morning at 10.30am walking to St Joseph’s Church, Newtownmountkennedy, arriving for 11am funeral Mass after which Kathleen will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Jack in Kilmurray Cemetery.

Jacqueline Devenney, St Johnston

The death has taken place at Galway University Hospital of Jacqueline (Jack) Devenney, née Duddy, Railway Road, St Johnston and formerly of Main Street, St Johnston.

Beloved wife of Michael, much loved mother of Evin, Aaron (Niomh) and Ciara, loving daughter of the late Rose and Billy and sister of Kathleen, Frankie, Marie, Ann, Sharon, Sally, Cathal and Georgina.

Her remains are reposing at her home. Family time please from 10pm to 11am.

Funeral leaving her home on Saturday at 1.15pm for Requiem Mass in St Baithin’s Church, St Johnston at 2pm, followed by burian in the adjoining cemetery.

Alice McDaid, Newtowncunningham

The peaceful death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Alice McDaid, née Breen, Killyverry, Newtowncunningham, F93 PNR1.

Deeply missed by her loving son Raymond (Majella), Knockbrack, Letterkenny and daughter Lisa Tully (Vincent) Sharon Glebe, Newtowncunningham, grandchildren Emma, Victoria, Ryan and Rachael, great-grandchildren Noah, Jonah and Jude, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours. Alice is predeceased by her husband Raymond and her brothers and sisters.

Alice’s remains are reposing at her late residence. Family time after the Rosary at 9pm.

Funeral from there on Saturday at 10.30am going to All Saints Church, Newtowncunningham for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/newtowncunningham Interment will take place afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.
