Death notices for Donegal on Monday evening

The following deaths have taken place:

- Brian Grieve, Kildare, Dublin and Letterkenny

- John Paul Mc Gill, Ardara

- Dr Tony Bonar, Dunfanaghy

Brian Grieve, Kildare, Dublin and Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Brian Grieve, formerly of Clonee, Dublin and Letterkenny. Brian passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in the care of The Residence Nursing Home, Maynooth.

Beloved husband of the recently deceased Myra for over 60 years and loving father of Cathy, Seamus, Caroline, Maria, Mairead, Bernie,Dympna and the late Baby Brian. He will be sadly missed by his devoted and loving children, daughter-in-law Martina, sons-in-law Gerry, Eamonn, Martin and Ray, his adored grandchildren Brian, Rebecca, Hannah, Natasha, Megan, Emer, Mia, Oran, Eamonn, Hayley, Molly, Zach, Dylan, Alex and Bradley and great-granddaughter Cora, his brothers Danny, James and Frank and his sister Bridie and all those who knew him. To know Brian was to love him.

His remains are reposing at his daughter Caroline's residence in Carbury, County Kildare, W91 H52P, on Wednesday from 3pm to 8pm. House strictly private on the morning of the funeral please.

Removal on Thursday at 11am to arrive at St Brigid's Church, Straffan for 12 noon Funeral Mass, followed by burial in Laraghbryan Cemetery, Maynooth. The Funeral Mass can be viewed live on Thursday at 12 noon by clicking on the following link : https://celstra.ie/st-brigids-webcam/

John Paul Mc Gill, Ardara

The peaceful death of John Paul McGill has occurred at his home in Maghera, Ardara.

Deeply missed by his loving wife Peggy, sons John (Denise), Pat (Jacqui), daughters Margie (Chris), Kathy (Gary), Dina (PJ), granddaughters, Ashley (Brendan), Meghan, Sophie and Lucy; sisters Celine (Killybegs), Vera (Donegal town), Sally (England); extended family, neighbours and good friends. He is predeceased by his parents Peter and Sarah, brothers Jimmy, Teague, Eamon, Peter and sisters Kathleen, Peggy and Mary.

His remains are reposing at McCabe's Funeral Home, Ardara on Tuesday from 4pm till 8pm, followed by private removal to the family home. Remains reposing at the family home on Wednesday from 2pm till 8pm. House private on morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass on Thursday morning at 12 noon at the Church of the Holy Family, Ardara with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery. 

Family flowers only please. Donations of desired to Killybegs Community Hospital care of McCabe Funeral Directors or any family member.

Dr Tony Bonar, Dunfanaghy

The death has taken place of Dr Tony Bonar, Hornhead, Dunfanaghy.

Predeceased by his loving and much loved wife Peronelle, his brothers Canon Hugo, Donal, Pearse, Kevin and Brendan and his sisters Brighdín (Kenny) and Maureen (Scally), Tony is greatly loved and missed by his children Sarah, Richard, Catherine and Patrick, his adored grandchildren Alex, Aine, Ellie, Jamie and Molly, his brother Bosco, sisters-in-law Gillian and Bernadette, son-in-law Steve and -in-law Jennifer and Nessa, his nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces, his extended family and also by his many friends and neighbours.

His remains are reposing at his late residence in Hornhead. Family time please from 10pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass in Holy Cross Church, Dunfanaghy on Wednesday at 12 noon, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard. Mass can be viewed live on https://mcn.live/Camera/holy-cross-church
