Marie Gallagher, Ramelton

The peaceful death has taken place in Donegal Hospice of Marie Gallagher, Swilly Park, Ramelton, F92 E3W6.

Deeply regretted by her loving husband Joe, son Michael, daughter-in-law Kate, brothers John, Jim and Frank, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, her life-long friend and Michael’s godmother Mary Cullen, her niece Maryann, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her niece Amanda Milner.

Reposing at her home from 6.30pm on Friday, March 21. Funeral Mass on Sunday, March 23 at 2.30pm in St Mary’s Church, Ramelton. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Funeral mass can be viewed live here. Rosary both nights at 9pm. House private on the morning of the funeral.

Maighread Quinn, Downings

The sudden death has occurred peacefully at her home of Maighread Quinn, neé Boylan, The Villas, Rosapenna, Downings.

Dearly beloved wife of Peter, and sadly missed by her daughters Catherine and Aine, son in law, Andrew, and her grandchildren Aoife, Liam and Sinead, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, dear friends, and extended family.

Reposing at her home, The Villas, Rosapenna, Downings, F92 PP21. Family time please from 9pm until midday.

The funeral will take place on Sunday, March 23 at 11.30am in St John The Baptist Church, Carrigart.

Interment will take place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The funeral will be live streamed on the Mevagh Parish Facebook page. Family flowers only please.

Kathleen Patterson, Letterkenny and Fanad

The death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital of Kathleen Patterson (née Shiels), 17 Ashbrook Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, F92 XPR8 (formerly of Cashel, Kindrum, Fanad).

Kathleen will be deeply missed by her loving husband Stephen, son Adrian, daughters-in-law Catriona and Moira, granddaughters Nessa and Oonagh, brothers JP and George (Maria), sisters Susan and Anne (Chris), nieces, nephews and friends.

Kathleen is predeceased by her son Ciarán, sister Margaret and brothers Hugh and Gerard. Her remains will be reposing at her late residence from 1pm tomorrow afternoon, Saturday, March 22.

Funeral Mass in St Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny at 11am on Monday, March 24 with burial afterwards in Fanavolty, Cemetery, Kindrum, Fanad. Rosary both nights at 9pm.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to the paliative care team, Letterkenny University Hospital.


Fergal Marley, Cloghan

The death has occurred of Fergal Marley, Gortiness, Cloghan, Donegal, F93 F6KW and Fintona, Tyrone.

Fergal is predeceased by his father, Willie. Fergal will be sadly missed by his partner, John, his mother, Noreen, his sister Fionnuala, his nephew Caolán and his nieces Leah and Aoibhin.

Fergal’s remains will repose at the family home from 1pm tomorrow, Saturday, March 22 until 9pm.

Fergal’s funeral mass will take place on Sunday, March 23 in Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Glenfin at 11am with interment afterwards in Kilteevoge Cemetery, Glenfin.

A rosary will take place at 8pm on Saturday night with family time from 9pm and on the morning of funeral.

Bridie Gallagher, Falcarragh

The peaceful death has taken place at her late residence of Bridie Gallagher, Drumfin, Falcarragh, Co Donegal, F92F791.

Predeceased by her husband John, her son Joe, sisters Marie, Madge and Eileen, brothers Joe and Pat.

Survived by her daughters Patricia, Eileen and Bernadette, sons Danny, John Anthony and Paul. Also sadly missed by her sister Elizabeth and brother Hughie, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters in law and sons-in-law.

Bridie’s remains will repose at her late residence, Drumfin, Falcarragh this evening, Friday, March 21 from 5pm for family only.

Everyone welcome to pay their respects tomorrow, Saturday March 22 between 11am and 9pm and again on Sunday between 11am and 9pm. Rosary both nights at 9pm.

Funeral mass on Monday, March 23 at 12 noon in St Fionan’s Church, Falcarragh with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Ruby Druce, Castlefinn

The death has taken place of Ruby Druce, at the age of 109, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Predecessed by her parents George and Lizzie, husband Jim, brothers Geordie and James, sisters Maggie and Molly, her niece Margo and nephew Tony.

Survived by her nieces Carmel and Claire, and nephew Seamus and extended family and very close friends.

Ruby will be waked at the home of her niece, Carmel Harran, Castlefinn, F93 E67R from 6pm to 9pm Friday, March 21 and Saturday from 12noon until 9pm.

Funeral will take place on Sunday, March 23 at 12pm in St Mary’s Church, Castlefinn, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Mass can be streamed live via parish website. Family time please on morning of the funeral.

Greg Rintoul, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Greg Rintoul of Donegal Town, formerly Wicklow and Edinburgh.

He passed away peacefully at Galway University Hospital. Deeply regretted and forever missed by his beloved wife Irene, children Jamie (Nikola) and Jenny (Anthony) and his adoring grandchildren, Max, Bonnie, Sam and Isla.

Greg passed after a courageous battle surrounded by love from all his family including siblings Hugh, Heather, Martin, Kevin, Tara and David. Predeceased by his parents Hugh and Irene and siblings Robyn, Violet and Linda. Greg will be missed by all his and Irene’s extended family and a wide circle of friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Gallagher’s Funeral Home, Station Road, Mountcharles, (F94X02N) on Sunday, March 23 from 2pm until 6pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, March 24 at 11am in St Mary’s Church, Killymard followed by burial immediately afterward in the local cemetery.

House strictly private at all times, family flowers only all donations in lieu of the Irish Cancer Society.

Jessie Thompson, Dunfanaghy

The death has taken place at the Lake House Nursing Home of Jessie Thompson (nee Boyd), Rockhill, Dunfanaghy, Co  Donegal, F92 K8Y7.

Jessie will be deeply missed by her beloved husband David, sons Kenneth (Lisa), David (Hayley), daughters Jenny (Barry) and Helen (Jamie). Grandchildren Jayke, Nathan, Tara and Bóann and extended family and friends.

Her remains will be reposing at her late residence on Friday, March 21 for close family only. Wake will take place on Saturday,   March 22 from 12.00 noon to 9pm, everyone welcome.

Family time on the morning of the funeral please. Funeral Service in St John’s Church, Ballymore on Sunday, March 23 at 3pm.

James John Bradley, Glasgow and Redcastle

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital, after a long illness, of James John Bradley (Jim, Jimmy, Jimmy Jock, the Sailor), originally from Glasgow, and Redcastle, late of Beach Hill Manor Home, Fahan, and previously of Taobh na Cille, Moville, and before that in Dublin, and Ballycroy, Co Mayo.

Beloved partner of Barbara, and father of Helen, Aine, Adam, and Rosalind. He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth, and will be sorely missed by all his family, extended family and friends.

His remains will be reposing at Kelly’s Funeral Home, Station Road, Carndonagh, F93YE1C from 6pm to 8pm on Saturday, March 22 where all are welcome to pay their respects.

Removal on Sunday, March 23  at 12.20pm to St Columba’s Church, Drung for Requiem Mass at 1:00pm followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Foncie Ward, Derby and Creeslough

The death has taken place in Derby, England of Foncie Ward formerly of Knocknafaugher and Ards, Creeslough, Co. Donegal. Aged 96.

Predeceased by his parents Charlie and Margaret, brothers Charlie, Paddy and Con, sisters Mary Ann, Susan, Rose Margaret and Veronica.

Beloved husband of Margaret, much loved father of Charlie, John, Michael, Brendan and Ann, father in law of Mary, Sally and Carol and dearly loved Grandad of Máiread, Fionnuala, Aisling, Jordan, Cavan, Caomhán and Ella.

The Vigil Mass will take place at English Martyrs Church, Derby, on Friday, March 21.

Foncie’s remains will then be taken to St Michael’s Church, Creeslough, arriving on Saturday,  March 22 at 6:30 pm, where he will repose overnight.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11am on Sunday, March 23 followed by burial in Doe Cemetery.

Leslie McGowan, Burnfoot

The sudden death has occurred at University Hospital Galway of Leslie McGowan, Ballyderowen, Burnfoot, F93 VF22.

Predeceased by his wife Margaret. Much loved father of William, Margaret, Jacqueline, Thomas, Helen, Elizabeth, Lexie, Catherine, Mervin and John. Dear brother of Mary Milligan and brother-in-law of Willie McLaughlin.

Deeply mourned and will be forever missed by his loving sons, daughters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister, brother-in-law, extended family and friends.

Leslie’s remains will be reposing at his daughter Jacqueline’s home, Ballyderowen, Burnfoot, F93 VF22 from 11am on Saturday, March 22 where everyone is welcome to pay their respects.

Removal from there on Monday, March 24 at 10.15am to St Mura’s Church, Fahan for funeral Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining graveyard.

Family flowers only donations in lieu to ICU University Hospital Galway c/o any family member. Mass can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/fahan.

Mary Leahy Bundoran and Glenties

The death has occurred of Mary Leahy, (nee Doogan), 1 Church Rd, Bundoran and formerly of Glenties.

She passed away peacefully in the exceptional care of all at Sligo University Hospital. Predeceased by her beloved daughter Elizabeth.

Mary will be forever loved and sadly missed by her loving family, her sons Pat, Daniel and Tommy, daughters Sheila, Angela and Bernadette, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, her beloved 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, close family friend Bernie Coffey and all her relatives, neighbours and great friends, especially all the Doogan and Ward Families.

Mary will repose at Breslin’s Funeral Home, West End, Bundoran F94E92F this Sunday, March 23 from 2pm to 7pm where all are most welcome. Removal from Breslin’s on Monday, March 24 at 10.30am to arrive at the Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea, Bundoran for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am. Removal afterwards to St. Ninnidh’s Cemetery for burial service.

Noel Smith, Rathmullan

The peaceful death has taken place at his home, surrounded by his loving family, of Noel Smith, Glebe, Killygarvan, Rathmullan.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Theresa, son Mark, daughter Sandra, daughter-in-law Andrea, grandchildren Amelia and Joshua, extended family and friends. Reposing at his home.

The death has taken place of Thomas Gallagher, Upper Corkey, Manorcunningham F92 X252.

Deeply missed by his loving wife Ann-Marie, sons Charlie (Claire) and Stephen (Yvonne) and grandson Aron, sisters Annie May Roddy (Derry), Margaret Wadhwa (Canada) and Virginia Lynch (Pluck, Manorcunningham), brother Johnny (Canada), nieces Karen, Fiona, Dearbhla, Róisín and Sarah, grand-nieces and nephews Eimear, Ethan, Conor, Penny-Rose, Beau and great-grand niece Ada, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours. Thomas is predeceased by his brother Cathal.

Thomas’ remains are reposing at his late residence on Thursday, March 20 from 3pm and on Friday, March 21 from 12 noon, with Rosary both nights at 9pm.

Funeral from there on Saturday, March 22 at 10.15am going to All Saints Church, Newtowncunningham for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/newtowncunningham. Interment afterwards in St. Columba’s Church Cemetery, Drumoghill. Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Donal Feely, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Donal Feely, Glebe Court, Donegal Town and formerly of The Station House, Donegal Town.

He passed away peacefully in Sligo University Hospital. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Betty, son Donal Óg,daughter in law Bernie, grand daughters Tara, Niamh, Aíne. Survived by his sisters Rita, Renee, Isobel, sister in law Gaye (Hughes) nieces and nephews.

Frank Mongan, Barnesmore

The sudden death has taken place in London of Frank “Frankie” Mongan, formerly of Cullionboy Barnesmore, F94EY76.

Predeceased by his parents Frank and Rita Deeply loved and Sadly missed by his son Ciaran(Rebecca), grandchildren, Eoghan & Ava, brothers Seamus(Eileen), Liam(Mary), Sean(Kay), Joe, Noel(Veronica), Pat, Eunan(Marie) sisters Mary, Breid(Denis), Rita(David), nephews, nieces, grandnieces and grandnephews, extended family and many friends.

Anna Macauley, Lettermacaward

The death has occurred of Anna Macauley, Dublin and formerly of Lettermacaward.

She passed away suddenly, but peacefully in the tender care of the staff at Peamount Healthcare.

Predeceased by her parents Joe and Margaret and her siblings Sadie, Mary, Jim, Leo, Tony, and Michael.

Anna will be very sadly missed by her sister Nora, brothers Joe and Pat, nieces, nephews, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and friends.

Reposing at Fanagan's Funeral Home, Willbrook, Rathfarnham on Friday, March 21 from 4:30pm to 6pm.

Removal on Saturday morning to the Church of the Annunciation, Rathfarnham for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by cremation in Mount Jerome Crematorium.

The death has taken place on March 18 at Letterkenny University Hospital of Jean Kelly, Hillhead, Castlefinn, F93 H275.

Much-loved wife of James, dearly loved mother of Francie, beloved daughter of Teresa and the late Francie and sister of Grace, Jacqueline, Frances and Martin.

Reposing at her home on Wednesday, March 19 from 7pm. Funeral leaving her home on Saturday, March 22 at 11.30a.m. for Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Castlefin at 12 noon.

Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Deeply regretted by her sorrowing husband, son, brother, sisters and family circle.

Pearse Mc Garrigle, Donegal Town and USA

The death has occurred of Pearse Mc Garrigle, Nevada, USA and formerly Castle Street and Drumcliffe, Donegal Town.

Predeceased by his parents Joe and Anna and his brother Ciaran, he is sadly missed by his loving family, sister Geraldine, brother-in-law Dan, brother James and sister-in-law Marie and dear nephew Jamie, relatives and friends.
