The following deaths have taken place:

Michael Gerard Roarty, Bunbeg

The sudden and unexpected death has taken place of Michael Gerard Roarty, Knockastolar, Bunbeg.

Predeceased by his Dad Micheál Roarty, uncles; Charlie and Noel, auntie Bella and godmother Irene Roarty.

Sadly missed by his heartbroken mother Sheila, sister Kathleen (Liam), brother Charlie (Ciara), uncles: Hughie and Martin, nephews and nieces; Liam, Sinéad, Síle Kate, Ava, Charlie & Louis, cousins, extended family and a wide circle of friends and work colleagues.

His remains will repose at his sister Kathleen’s residence (F92 NY32) in Knockastolar on Tuesday (18th) from 5pm to 10pm and on Wednesday from 11am to 8pm. Rosary nightly at 8pm.

House private on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass will take place in St Mary’s Church, Derrybeg (F92 H289) on Thursday, March 20 at 11am, interment afterwards in Magheragallon cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu to Croí Heart & Stroke Foundation c/o any family member or Kieran Roarty Funeral Director.

Eileen Powell, Letterkenny and Churchill

The peaceful death has taken place of Eileen Powell, 6 Bracken Lea, Mountain Top, F92ATD6, Letterkenny formerly of Gartan, Churchill, in the gentle care of the staff in the Donegal Hospice Letterkenny, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by husband Bruce (2017), parents George (2003) and Ellen (2016).

Sadly missed by brothers Seamus (Frances), Benny (Deirdre), sister Marian (PJ), best friend Louise Duffy and good neighbour Dymphna Byrne.

Fondly remembered by aunties Kate Doohan and Vonnie Gallagher, nieces, nephews, their partners & grand nieces & extended family members.

Removal on Monday, St Patrick’s Day, March 17 at 5pm from the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest going to her late residence.

Funeral from there on Wednesday, March 19 going to St Columba’s Church, Glendowan for requiem Mass at 11am, followed by interment in Gartan cemetery. Family time only please from 10pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Donegal Hospice or the short stay medical ward, Letterkenny University hospital care of any family member or Charlie Mc Clafferty Funeral Director.

Patsy O'Donnell, Lifford

The death has taken place at the Donegal Hospice of Patsy O`Donnell, Gortin North, Ballindrait, Lifford.

Beloved husband of Patricia, much-loved father of Gavin and Rachel, dearly loved grandfather of Sophie and Kaiden and brother of Maureen, Anne, Brian, Angela and Jacqueline.

Reposing at his home on Monday, March 17 from 6pm. Funeral leaving his home on Wednesday, March 19 at 11.20am for Requiem Mass in St Patrick`s Church, Murlog, Lifford at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Deeply regretted by his sorrowing wife, son, daughter, grandchildren, brother, sisters and family circle.

Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.

Donations in lieu of flowers please to the Donegal Hospice c/o Quigley Funeral Directors, 1A Newtown Place, Strabane.

The house is strictly private to family and very close friends only. The Requiem Mass can be viewed live via the parish webcam.

Seamus Doherty, Derrybeg and Gweedore

The peaceful death has taken place at his home of Seamus Doherty, Lunniagh, Derrybeg, originally of Corveen, Gweedore.

Predeceased by Mick and Bella Doherty, brother Michael and sister Bernadette.

Sadly missed by his wife Doris, daughter Deirdre, son Stephen, sons in-law Frank and Phil, sisters Annie and Eileen and extended family and friends.

His remains will repose at Roarty’s Funeral Home, Derrybeg (F92 DN4X) on Sunday, March 16 from 2pm to 8pm and on  Monday, March 17 from 3pm to 8pm. Rosary nightly at 8pm. Family home is strictly private please.

Funeral Mass will take place in St Mary’s Church, Derrybeg on Tuesday, March 18 at 11am, interment afterwards in Magheragallon cemetery.

Raymond Wray, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Raymond Wray, The Heneys, Donegal Town. He passed away peacefully at Donegal Community Hospital.

Remains arriving at Christ Church Lough Eske Sunday, March 16 at 7.30pm.

Removal from Christ Church Lough Eske Tuesday, March 18 at 1.30pm to Donegal Presbyterian Church for funeral service at 2pm followed by burial in the Glebe Cemetery, Donegal Town.

Pearse Mc Garrigle, Donegal Town and USA

The death has occurred of Pearse Mc Garrigle, Nevada, USA and formerly Castle Street and Drumcliffe, Donegal Town.

Predeceased by his parents Joe and Anna and his brother Ciaran, he is sadly missed by his loving family, sister Geraldine, brother-in-law Dan, brother James and sister-in-law Marie and dear nephew Jamie, relatives and friends.

Jenna Shovlin, Portnoo and USA

The sudden death has occurred in Manhattan, New York, of Jenna Shovlin, The Rock, Clogher West, Portnoo.

Jenna will be sadly missed by her heartbroken parents, Frankie and Kathleen, brothers Christopher (Tanya), Keith (Hannah), nieces Lilly and Jodie, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Jenna's remains will repose at the family home F94 N6C2 from Tuesday at 12 noon with Rosary nightly at 9pm. A shuttle bus service will be in operation, from the Dolmen Centre Kilclooney, for the traffic from Ardara direction and Narin Beach car park for the traffic from Glenties direction to the wake house from 5pm daily.

Removal on Friday to St Conals Church, Kilclooney for funeral Mass at 12 noon. Internment will take place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The Mass will be streamed live on the McCabes funeral directors Facebook page.

Family flowers only, donations if desired to Kevin Bell repatriation fund and The Charlie Bennett Fund care of any family member or McCabe funeral directors.

Anthony John Dick, Galway, Killybegs and USA

The death has taken place after a short illness of Anthony John Dick, Forramoyle West, Barna, Galway, and formerly of Killybegs and Alaska.

John will be sorely missed by his devoted family; Florence, Andrew and Veronica, daughter-in-law Erika, son-in-law Killian, adoring grandchildren Louis, Charlie, Charlotte and Jack, siblings Valerie, Fiona, Gerald, Vivienne and Adrian, nieces, nephews, neighbours and his wide circle of friends both here and abroad. He is predeceased by his daughter Sarah, sister Cathy, parents Veronica and Herbert, recently by his sister-in-law Mary Crisham and by his brothers-in-law Johnny and Maurice.

House private please. John's remains will Repose in the Cillín within the Church of Mary Immaculate Queen, Bearna on Monday from 4pm to 5.30pm. 

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for John on arrival at the Church of Mary Immaculate Queen, Bearna at 11am on Tuesday. Mass can be viewed live here. 

A Committal Service will take place at 4pm at Shannon Crematorium. John’s family would like those attending the funeral to wear colourful clothes to celebrate his life.
