Death notices for Donegal on Monday evening

The following deaths have taken place:

- Jackie Hunter, Convoy

- Bríd Boner, Doochary

- Jason O'Mahoney, Ballyshannon

- Jack Lavin, Ballybofey

- Páraig O'Sullivan, Letterkenny

- Mary Curran, Gweedore

- Tony Sheridan - Derry and Rathmullan

Jackie Hunter, Convoy

The death has taken place at the Donegal Hospice of Jackie Hunter, Findrum, Convoy.

Jackie is predeceased by his brother Kenneth. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Teresa, son Karl, grandsons Darragh and Oisín, great- granddaughter Freya. He will be deeply regretted by his brother George (Strabane) and sister Glenda Rooney (Letterkenny).

The family home is private please. Jackie will repose at Terence McClintock’s funeral home Ballyboe, Convoy, F93WF54, where family and friends are welcome to call from 6pm to 8pm on Monday, with Rosary at 7pm, and on Tuesday from 4pm to 6pm followed by removal to St Mary’s Church, Convoy for reception prayers and to repose overnight.

Funeral Mass there on Wednesday at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please donations in lieu if desired to the Donegal hospice care of any family member or Terence McClintock funeral director.

Bríd Boner, Doochary

The death has occurred peacefully at Dungloe Community Hospital of Bríd (Baba) Boner, Derryhenny, Doochary.

Predeceased by her husband Packie, sisters Mary and Gráinne and brother Connell, she is sadly missed by Tony (Colette), Deirdre (Ronnie), Kevin (Claire), Martina (Eamonn), Enda (Marie), her grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family.

Her remains are reposing at McGlynn’s Funeral home, Dungloe, F94ND68, on  Monday from 5pm to 8pm followed by Rosary, and on Tuesday from 2pm to 6pm with removal to St Connell’s Church, Doochary for 6.30pm. House strictly private.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11am followed by interment in the New Cemetery

Jason O'Mahoney, Ballyshannon

The sudden death has taken place of Jason O'Mahoney, Westport, Ballyshannon and Rathmore, Ballyshannon.

Predeceased by his loving mother Mary, Jason will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his loving family, his father TJ, his brothers Sean, Declan, Paul, Trevor and Darren, his sister Lorraine, his beloved daughter Ava, her mother Michelle, his grandson Andrew, his brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and all his many relatives, neighbours and friends.

Jason's funeral arrangements will be announced on Tuesday.

Jack Lavin, Ballybofey

The death has taken place peacefully at his home, of retired garda sergeant Jack Lavin, Dreenan, Ballybofey, and late of Swinford, County Mayo.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Lorna, family Desmond, Irene, Niamh, Lorna Mairéad and Michael, sons-in-law Ciarán O’Driscoll and Michael Ryan, daughters-in-law Maryanne and Frances, grandchildren Michael Kenneth, Ciarán, Jack, David, James, Seán, Patrick, Eilís, Tara and Anna, sisters-in-law Kathleen, Sr Irene and Sr Claire, brothers-in-law Fr Desmond, Raymond and Alan, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his brother Michael and sisters Mary and Nancy.

His remains are reposing at his home from 1pm on Monday and Tuesday. Family time on the morning of the funeral.

Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 11am in St Patrick’s Church, Crossroads, Killygordon. Burial will take place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Mass can be viewed on St Patrick’s Church, Crossroads, Killygordon Facebook Page. 

Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to St Vincent de Paul Society.

Páraig O'Sullivan, Letterkenny

The death has taken place of Páraig O’Sullivan, Coolboy, Letterkenny, a retired Engineer, formerly Dublin. He passed away peacefully in Letterkenny Hospital, after an illness bravely borne.

Predeceased by his sister Patti McHugh. Páraig will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Brid, née McMenamin, his sons Trevor and Sean, their wives Martha and Sarah, his adored granddaughter Imogen, his sister Maureen, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, niece and nephews, his extended family, friends and his carers.

His remains are reposing at the Eternal Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top , Letterkenny, F92 XE35 on Monday from 3.30pm to 5.30pm concluding with removal to St Joseph’s Church, Rathmullan for reception prayers at approximately 6.30pm.

Requiem Mass takes place at 11am on Tuesday, followed by burial in Rathmullan Cemetery. Mass can be viewed live on https://mcn.live/Camera/st-joesphs-church-rathmullan

Mary Curran (née Harkin), Gweedore
The peaceful death has taken place of Mary Curran, née Harkin, Curransport, Meenlaragh.

Predeceased by her husband Eddie (Ned) her parents Bridget and Joe, her brothers Myles, Owenie, Charlie, Philip and Joe and her sister Sarah, sadly missed by children Frances, Joe, John and Sarah, son-in-law Martin, daughters-in-law Leana and Claire, grandchildren Ciaràn, Niamh, Conor, Michael, Alannah, Niall, Aaron; Seva and Seosa, in-laws, nephews, nieces, neighbours and all her dear friends.

Mary’s remains will repose at her daughter Sarah’s residence at Aughnagaddy Glebe, Ramelton F92DK3H, with wake continuing on Monday from 12 noon to 9pm. Rosary at 8pm. House private please from 9pm to 12 noon and on the morning of the funeral. Funeral mass can be viewed live on Gallagher Funeral Directors' Facebook page.

Funeral from there on Tuesday going to St Colmcilles church, Cnoc Fola for 12 noon Requiem Mass travelling via Dunlewey, Fanaboy and Magheroarty with burial afterwards in the adjacent Cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu to Áras Uì Dhomhnaill Nuusing home Milford care of any family member. 

Tony Sheridan - Derry City and Rathmullan
The death has taken place suddenly at his home of Anthony (Tony) Sheridan, 3 Kingsfort Crescent, Derry, BT48 7TB, and formerly Rathmullan.

Beloved husband of Terry, loving father of Mark, Gemma, Stephen and Kathryn, dear father-in-law of Claire, Stephen, Emma and John, adored grandfather of Beth, Jude, Rose, Lucas, Darcy and Isla, dear brother of Jim, Josie, Paddy, Mary, Bridget and Bernie. Anthony will by sadly missed by all his family, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposal of his remains continues at 3 Kingsfort Crescent on  Monday from 2pm until 8pm.

Funeral mass on Tuesday at 1 pm in St Patrick’s Church, Pennyburn, Buncrana Road, Derry. Burialwill take place afterwards in Rathmullan Cemetery.
