Bernie McGowan, Ballyshannon
The death has occurred of Bernie McGowan, Cashelard, Ballyshannon. She passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her mother Vera and her father Richard Shortall. She is the beloved wife of Hughie and adored mother of Ben and Enya.
Bernie will be greatly missed by her sisters Sinead (Martin), Joan (John), Mary (George), and her brother Raymond (Rita), her brother-in-law John and sister-in-law Bridie (Johnny), as well as her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Bernie's remains will be going to Lakelands Crematorium in Cavan on Friday, August 2 at 12noon for private funeral service, followed by cremation. Margaret Liddy, Donegal Town and Sligo
The death has occurred of Mrs Margaret Liddy, Oxfield Road, Drumcliffe, Co Sligo and formerly Ardeskin, Donegal Town, peacefully in Donegal Community Hospital. Sadly missed by her sons John (Castlebar) and Ciaran (Letterkenny), daughters in law Tricia and Alice, grandchildren Aaron and Maura, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends. Sister of Ellie (Killkenny) and Jackie McMullin (Donegal). Predeceased by her husband Sean Liddy, sister Betty Quinlan. Margaret’s remains will repose at the home of her brother Jackie Mc Mullin Ardeskin, Donegal Town from 2pm until 9pm on Wednesday, July 31. Family only at all other times please. Margaret’s remains will leave the home of her brother Jackie at 10:30 am for 11am Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Donegal Town on Thursday, August 1 2024, with burial immediately afterwards in Rathcormack Cemetery, Co. Sligo.
Carmel Healy, Dublin and Letterkenny
The death has occurred of Carmel Healy (née Coyle), Killester, Dublin and formerly of Letterkenny. She passed on July 28 peacefully in the care of the staff of Sacred Heart Nursing Home, Sybil Hill, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her loving husband John, very sadly missed by her sister Bernadette, her nieces Madeline, Deirdre and Veronica and nephew John, sadly missed by all her relatives and friends.
Carmel will be reposing at Jennings Funeral Home, Springdale Road, Raheny on Thursday, August 1 from 3pm to 4.30pm then removal to St Brigid’s Church, Killester for 5.00pm. Funeral Mass on Friday, August 2 at St Brigid’s Church, Killester at 10am followed by burial in St Fintan's Cemetery, Sutton. The funeral Mass can be viewed live here.
Mary Morrow, Rossnowlagh
The death has occurred of Mary Morrow, Corker, Kilbarron, Rossnowlagh. She passed away peacefully at Sheil Hospital, Ballyshannon Community Nursing Unit surrounded by her loving family.
Beloved daughter of the late Mary and Daniel Roper, predeceased by her husband Michael, son Dermot and daughter Marie. Very sadly missed by her daughters Michelle (Yves), Ann (Richard), Assumpta (Baptiste), Liz (Brendan), Bernadette (Brendan), Edel, Antoinette, Lucy (Stephen), Eileen (Denis), grandchildren, nephews, nieces, neighbours, and all her dear friends. Reposing at her daughter's residence Ann (Richard), Corker, Kilbarron, Rossnowlagh, Co Donegal Tuesday and Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm on both evenings for family, close friends and neighbours. House private at all other times please. Removal on Thursday morning to St. Patrick's Church, Ballyshannon for 11am Funeral Mass with burial afterwards in the Abbey Cemetery. Bridget Doherty, Manchester, England and Ballyliffin
The death has occurred in Manchester, England of Bridget Doherty (nee Mc Laughlin) and formerly of Ballyliffin, Clonmany.
Wife of the late Denis Doherty and much loved mother of Ann, Claire and Mark, sadly missed by her sister Angela brother Peter, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and the wider family circle.
Her remains will be reposing at the family home in Ballylifin on Thursday, August 1 from 12 midday.
Funeral from there on Friday morning at 10:45am going to the Oratory, Ballylifin for Requiem Mass at 11am with interment immediately afterwards in the old graveyard, Clonmany.

Patrick Doherty, Carrigart
The sudden death has taken place of Patrick Doherty, Gortabrade, Carrigart. His remains will repose at his late residence from 6pm on Tuesday, July 30. Funeral from there on Thursday going to the Church of St John the Baptist for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Family time please from 10pm to 11am and on the morning of the Funeral.
Benedict (Benny) Mooney, Killybegs
The death has occurred of Benedict (Benny) Mooney, The Hill, Killybegs, Donegal, F94 HR70. He passed away peacefully at Donegal Hospice. Benny will be sorely missed by his wife of nearly 56 years, Bridie, and his five sons, Julian, Damian, Marcus, Joshua and Kolbe, their spouses, his 14 grandchildren and siblings Carmel, Tommy, Bridie and Nicholas, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his great-granddaughter Bláithín, his brothers, Cathal and Micheal and sister Margaret. Reposing at his home (F94 HR70) on Tuesday, July 30 from 12 noon to 9pm. Requiem Mass in St Mary of the Visitation Church, Killybegs on Wednesday, July 31 at 11am followed by burial in Mountcharles Cemetery. Family flowers only. Edward Carlin, Sligo, Derry and Buncrana
The death has occurred of Edward (Paddy) Carlin Lower Heather View, Tonaphubble, Sligo, Derry and Buncrana, Donegal. he passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Molly, brother Tony and his sister Mary. Adored husband of Sadie, loving father of Brendan, Theresa and Johnny. Paddy will be sadly missed by his wife, sons, daughter, grandchildren Sadhbh, Liam and Cormac, son-in-law Pat, daughter-in-law Pamela, brothers John and Michael, sister Irene, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and wide circle of friends.
Reposing at The Foley and McGowan Funeral Home, Market Yard, Sligo F91 YR61 on Monday, July 29 from 6pm to 7:30pm. Funeral will arrive to St Anne’s Church, Sligo on Tuesday, July 30 at 11:00am for requiem Mass, followed by burial in Sligo Cemetery. The funeral can be viewed live here.
Derek Crawford, Raphoe
The sudden death has taken place of Derek Crawford, Magherahane, Raphoe (F93FW6X). He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his father Nial, mother Yvonne, sisters Linda and Helena, brother Alan, nieces, nephews, cousins and wider family circle.
Derek’s remains are reposing at Magherahane. Funeral leaving from there on Thursday, August 1 at 11.30am for 12 noon Funeral Mass in St Eunan’s Church, Raphoe followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Mary Elizabeth (Lizzy) Doherty, Clonmany
The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Mary Elizabeth (Lizzy) Doherty, née McEleney, Minaduff, Clonmany, F93W7D3.
Wife of the late Neil, Loving mother of Paddy, Danny, Mary, Paul, Martin, Kathleen, Grace and Philip. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, and her extended family and friends. Her remains are reposing at her home from 11am today.
Funeral leaving from there on Wednesday, July 31 at 10.20am, going to St Mary’s Church, Clonmany for requiem Mass at 11am, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
