Death notices for Donegal on Wednesday morning

The following deaths have taken place:

Hughie Travers, Donegal Town

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Hughie Travers, Millbrook, Donegal Town.

Wake and funeral arrangements to be confirmed later. House private at present.

John McMenamin, Castlefin and London

The death has occurred zuddenly at his home in London,of John Mc Menamin, formerly of Egeltybane, Castlefin

Cherished son of the late William John and Mary, loving brother of Seamus, Michael, Lizzie, Anne and the late Mary T, Bernie and Liam. Very deeply regretted and sadly missed by his sorrowing brothers, sisters, sisters in law, nieces, nephews and entire family circle.

His remains will repose at Lynch's Funeral Home, 50, Castlefin Road, Castlederg BT81 7EE on Wednesday from 6pm to 9pm.

Removal from the Funeral Home on Thursday at 11am via Killeter Road, Moneygal Road, Egaltybane and Raws Crossroads for Requiem Mass at 12 noon in St Mary’s Church, Castlefin. Cremation will take place afterwards in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan with Service at 4pm. The Mass can be viewed via the parish webcam. 

Mary Durning, Ramelton

The death has taken place suddenly at her home, of Mary Durning, Newmill, Ramelton.

Predeceased by her parents Joe and Mary and her sisters Susan and Tina; deeply regretted by her loving sisters and brothers, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Mary will be sadly missed by Brendan (Castlefin), Sara (Ramelton), Bernie (Letterkenny), Patrick (Creeslough), Anne (Sydney), Josephine (Meath), Veronica (Ramelton), Nuala (Clare) and Paul (Ramelton).

Her remains are reposing at the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny, F92 XE35, on Wednesday from 5pm until 7pm, when those who wish may pay their respects. Removal at 7pm to St Mary’s Church, Ramelton to repose overnight.

Requiem Mass on Thursday at 11am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Funeral mass can be viewed on https://www.churchservices.tv/ramelton

Dorothy O'Boyle, Louth and Mountcharles

The death has taken place of Dorothy O'Boyle, Blackrock, County Louth and formerly of Mountcharles. She passed away in the wonderful care of the staff at St Gabriel’s Nursing Home, Raheny.

Predeceased by her siblings Cabrini (Dunne), Joseph and Sean, she is very sadly missed by her sisters Maura (Ronan) and Frances (O’Shea), brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Removal to St Fintan’s Church, Sutton on Thursday for 10am Funeral Mass followed by burial in St Fintan’s cemetery, Sutton. A live stream of Dorothy’s funeral Mass can be viewed on https://www.mcn.live/Camera/st-fintans-parish-church-sutton-dublin

Marie Higgins, Greencastle

The death has taken place peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, of Marie Higgins, Viewfort, Balleeghan, Greencastle and formerly of Dungannon, County Tyrone.

Predeceased by her husband Frank and brothers Pat and Fr John; loving Mother to Joe (Siobhan), Irene (Mark), Eamon (Ann), James (Catherine) and Patricia (Seamus). Sadly missed by her sisters Margaret and Irene, grandchildren, great grandchild and wider family circle.

Her remains are reposing at her late residence. Family time from 9pm to 11am.

Removal at 9.30am on Thursday for 10am Mass in Saint Pius X Church, Moville, followed by interment afterwards at St Malachy's Cemetery Edendork, arriving at approx 3.30pm. Funeral Mass can be viewed live on www.movilleparish.com

Dom Mc Gee, Fanad

The death has taken place peaefully at home of Dominic (Dom) McGee, Ballyheerin, Fanad and formerly Rossnakill, Fanad.

Predeceased by his parents Neil Joe and Gertrude, brother Niall Fiachre and his daughter Kerry; deeply regretted by his wife Bernie, his sons Darren and Siobhan (Ballyheerin), Dom and Rachael (Chicago), Cormac and Shanila (Perth), and Connor and Jacinta (Chicago), his brothers PJ (NY), Seán (Cavan), Ciarán (Waterford) and his sisters Deirdre Xavier (Dublin) and Máire Wallace (Clare). Sadly missed by his adored grandchildren Alexandria, Giulianna, Vivian, Naomi, Dominic Jnr, Rocco, Kiara, Connor, Arianna, Cormac, Fiona and Gavin, his extended family, neighbours and his many friends.

His remains are reposing at his late residence. As parking is limited, a shuttle bus service will be available from the carpark of The Church of The Immaculate Conception, Ballyheerin, from 5pm to 10pm. Rosary at 9pm.

Removal from there on Thursday at 11.30am going to St Mary’s Church, Fanavolty, Fanad for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Burial will take place afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live on the Mc Ateer Funeral Directors facebook page.

Anita Civkule, Letterkenny and Latvia

The death has occurred of Anita Civkule, 10, Chestnut Grove, Letterkenny, and formerly of Latvia.

Loving mother to Adelina, deeply regretted by her partner Aivars, mother Marite, brother Imants, sister Ruta, work colleagues, many friends and extended family. 

Her remains reposed overnight at St Eunan’s Cathedral.

Requiem Mass takes place on Wednesday at 11am and can be viewed live on the link www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny This will be followed by private cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.
