Death notices for Donegal on Tuesday evening

The following deaths have taken place:

Rose Byrne, Kilcar

The peaceful death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital of Rose Byrne, née Breslin, Roxborough, Kilcar.

Sadly missed by her loving husband Paul, her son Cian, her brothers, Tommy, William, Seamus and Noel, her sisters, Annie and Carmel, her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her beloved son, Eric, her parents Francie and Mary Breslin, her sisters, Teresa Heekin and Mary Heekin.

Rose's remains will repose at McCabe's Funeral Home, Ardara, F94 VCK1, from 4pm until 6pm on Tuesday with removal from there at 6pm travelling via Killybegs, going to her late residence in Roxbourough, Kilcar. Reposal continues at her late residence on Tuesday evening, Wednesday and Thursday.

Removal from there on Friday morning at 10.30am, going to St Cartha's Church, Kilcar for 11.00am Funeral Mass, with burial afterwards in the local cemetery. Rose's Funeral Mass can be viewed on the parish webcam.

Peadar Duffy, Ballybofey

The death has occurred at his late residence of Peadar Duffy, Cappry, Ballybofey. F93 V88D.

Beloved husband of Margaret, and much loved father to Maureen (Pete), Margaret (Michael),Geraldine (Trevor), Ann (Andy),dearly loved grandfather of Stephen, Laurelle, Natasha, Mark, Brooke, Morgan, Lilly, Evan, great grandfather of Aoife, Corey, Saoirse, Megan, Oisin, Senin, Laoise, cherished brother of Mary, Charlie and the late Annie, Bridget, and Marjoury (Dolly) James, Mick, Patsy, Johnny ,Eugene, Hugh, and Anjo. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his wife, daughters, brother, sister, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

His remains are reposing at his late residence on Tuesday from 6pm. Family time from 10pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral leaving his residence on Thursday at 10.20am for Requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11am. Interment will take place in Drumboe cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the Parish Webcam at https://www.churchservices.tv/stranorlar

Allan Lord, Fanad and Cheshire

The death has taken place of Allan Lord, Cashel, Kindrum, Fanad and formerly Warrington, Cheshire, UK. Je passed away peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital.

Deeply regretted by his wife Carol, son Ewan and his adored grandchildren Patrick, Jonathan and Autumn. Sadly missed by his brother Brian, his extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Requiem Mass will be held for Allan at 10am on Thursday in St. Mary's Church, Fanavolty, followed by a private cremation.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to Fanad Day Care Centre c/o any family member or Mc Ateer Funeral Directors.

Jim Carson, Letterkenny

The peaceful death has taken place at the Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny of James (Jim) Carson, 7 Binnion Avenue, Letterkenny F92 V4DC.

Deeply missed by his loving wife Tessie, sons, daughters, grandchildren and extended family, friends and neighbours.

Reposal of Jim’s remains will continue at his late residence until 9pm on Tuesday with Rosary at 9pm. Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Funeral from there on Wednesday at 10.30am going to St Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny Interment will take place afterwards in Conwal Cemetery. 

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to the Haematology Unit, Letterkenny University Hospital and the Donegal Hospice c/o any family member.

Betty McIntyre, Donegal Town

The death has taken place peacefully at her home, of Elizabeth (Betty) McIntyre, Tirconaill Street, Donegal Town.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her family Moragh, Michael, Paula, and Owen, her grandchildren Edward, Ailbhe, Ruairi, Hughie, Sarah and Connor, and great-grandchildren Catherine and Lauren. She is predeceased by her husband Michael (Mickey).

Betty's remains will be reposing at Gallaghers Funeral Home, Station Road, Mountcharles, F94 XO2N, on Tuesday from 4pm until 7pm followed by removal to St Mary's Church, Killymard to arrive at 7.30 pm.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11am, followed by burial immediately afterward in the local cemetery.

Tony O'Malley, Mayo and Glencolmcille

The death has taken place peacefully at Donegal Hospice, of Tony O'Malley, Belclare, Westport, County Mayo and formerly of Glencolmcille.

Predeceased by his wife Molly; devoted father to Kieran, Michele and Antoinette; Tony will be sadly missed by his children, sons-in-law and partners, his adored grandchildren Barry, Shane, Emma, Steffi, Ben, Antony, Catriona, Diarmuid and Conor, brother Paddy (O/Malley), nephews, nieces, extended family and many great friends.

His remains are reposing in Navin's Funeral Home, Westport, F28 XR61, on Wednesday from 6pm with removal to St Mary's Church, Westport at 7.30pm.

Funeral Mass on Thursday at 1pm with burial afterwards in Kilgeever Cemetery, Louisburgh, County Mayo. Funeral Mass will be live streamed on www.churchtv.ie/westport

Úna, Ciara and Saoirse Bowden, Raphoe and Galway

The death has occurred of Úna (née Carlin), Ciara and Saoirse Bowden, Miltown, Raphoe, Donegal, F93Th72 and Moycullen, Galway.

Predeceased by her motherand grandmother Mary. Beloved wife and daughters of David. Much loved daughter and granddaughters of John, and sorely missed by his partner Jill and the Earls family, daughter-in-law and granddaughters of Gus and Eileen Bowden. Cherished sister and nieces of Eimear and Catriona, brother-in-law and uncle Andrew.

Úna, Ciara and Saoirse are reposing at the home of Úna’s father John Carlin, (Carlin Farm) Miltown, Raphoe, F93TH72. Family time please on the morning of the funeral. 

Funeral leaving from there on Wednesday, at 11am for 12pm Requiem Mass in St Eunan’s Church, Raphoe with interment afterwards in the family plot in the old graveyard, Convoy. The funeral Mass can be viewed live on MCN media or Parish of Raphoe webcam.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu to Madrá – a dog and cat rescue center in Galway that was very close to the hearts of the girls, care of Terence McClintock Funeral Director. 

Colin Geagan, Bundoran and Galway

The death has occurred of Colin Geagan, (known as Kolie) 7 Silverhill, West End, Bundoran and formerly of Poulatagle, Kilmacduagh, Gort, Co. Galway. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and in the exceptional care of all at The North West Hospice, The Mall, Sligo.

Beloved partner to Elaine, and dear father to Paul and Gina (Witherow). Deeply regretted and will be forever missed by his loving partner, son, daughter, son-in-law Mark, daughter-in-law Michelle, his adored grandchildren Alannah, Anna, Gemma, David, Zoe and Aoife, his sisters Ann and Pauline, and all his many nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Mary, sons David and Marc, granddaughter Zara Witherow, brothers Pat, Joe, Jim, Frank, Martin and Mick, sisters Briget, Margaret and Maryann.

Removal from his late residence on Wednesday morning at 10.30am to arrive at St Aidan's Church, Kinlough, Co Leitrim for Funeral Service at 11am. Burial will take place afterwards in St Ninnidh's Cemetery, Newtown, Bundoran. Funeral Service can be viewed live on the Kinlough-Glenade Parish Facebook Page.
