Maurice Devenney, Carrigans

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Maurice Devenney, Lusticle, Carrigans.

He will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his sister Margaret, brother Davey and also his sister-in-law Sadie, nieces, nephews and wider family circle.

His remains will be reposing at his sister Margaret Devenney’s home at Moness, St Johnston from 6pm on Sunday.

Funeral leaving from there on Tuesday at 1.15pm for 2pm funeral service at Taughboyne Parish Church, Carrigans followed by burial in the family plot in the adjoining graveyard.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu to Medical Five, Letterkenny University Hospital care of Terence McClintock funeral director.

Caroline Dickson, Fahan and Derry

The death has occurred of Caroline Dickson, F.R.I.A.I., R.I.B.A., of Fahan and Derry City. She died at Buncrana Community Hospital after a short illness.

Predeceased by her parents Christine (née Dunne) and Peter Dickson. A much loved cousin, fondly and sadly missed by her many friends, colleagues and her beloved Fahan community.

Removal to St Mura’s, Church of Ireland, Fahan, arriving 2.30 pm on Thursday.

Joe Doherty, Carndonagh

The death has taken place at University Hospital Galway of Joe Doherty (Jack), Malin Road, Carndonagh. F93YXR2.

Beloved husband of Mary, and much-loved father of Caroline, Maria, Joanne, Bernadette and John. Deeply regretted by his daughters, son, sisters, brothers, grandchildren and extended family.

His remains will be reposing at his home from Monday morning. House private please from 10pm until 11am. 

Funeral leaving there on Wednesday morning at 10.30am going to Sacred Heart Church Carndonagh for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Joe’s Requiem Mass can be viewed live on the parish webcam.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to University Hospital Galway Patient’s Comfort Fund or any family member.

Mary Mc Brearty, Lifford and St Johnston

The death has taken place of Mary Mc Brearty (née Mc Daid), 9 Letterkenny Road, Lifford and formerly of Magheracloy, St Johnston.

Beloved wife of the late Tommy, much loved mother of Danny, Liam, John, Kay, Eileen and the late Pajoe and sister of the late Patrick, Daniel and William.

Her remains are reposing at her home. Family time please from 11pm to 11am.

Catherine Worobec, Gweedore and Wales

The death has taken place in Cardiff of Catherine Worobec (née McBride) originally of Carrick Mc Garvey, Gweedore.

Predeceased by her husband Stefan Worobec, her brothers Paddy, Michael, Owenie and John and sisters Bridget, Mary, Madge, Grace and Sheila. Sadly missed by her son Stephen, grandson Steffan and her many nephews and nieces.

Her Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday at 11am in St Mary's Church, Derrybeg, Donegal, interment afterwards in Magheragallon Cemetery.

Kathleen Gaffney, USA, Ballyshannon, Leitrm, Monaghan and Waterford

The death has occurred of Kathleen Gaffney, née Keon, Chicago Ridge, IL, USA, and formerly of Askill, Kinlough, Co Leitrim/ Ballinamore, Leitrim / Ballyshannon, Donegal / Castleblayney, Monaghan / Carrick-on-Suir, Waterford.

Beloved wife of the late Noel, loving sister to Maureen, the late Anne and John; Cherished mother of Genevieve (Tom), Noelle, Maeve (Padraic), Brenda (Craig) and Lorna (Michael); Adored Grandmother of Tara, Adrienne, Noelle, Catherine, Michael, Pierce, Siobhan, Sean, and PJ; The great granny to Abbie, Emma, Eoghan, Olivia, and Finn.

Kathleen will be sadly missed by her brother-in-law Mick, sisters-in-law Margaret, Mary, Noreen, Angie, and Jean, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews in Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the UK and the USA, the entire extended Gaffney and Keon families and a wide circle of friends.

Kathleen was a respected business owner whose Oak Lawn travel agency, Gaffney Travel, was well known in the Irish community and in the southwest suburbs. In her more than 40 years in business, she was a beloved boss known as Mrs G to everyone in the office. “There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in our hearts.”

Visitation on Monday and Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm at Curley Funeral Home, 6116 W. 111th St., Chicago Ridge, IL 60415

Funeral Tuesday at 10am from Curley Funeral Home to Our Lady of the Ridge Church, 108th Street & Oxford Avenue, Chicago Ridge for Mass 11am. A live stream of the mass will be available via https://www.asimplestreaming.com/kgaffney Interment will take place afterwards in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Mercy Home For Boys and Girls. (MercyHome.org) will be appreciated. 

Fr George McLaughlin PP VF, Greencastle

The death has occurred of Fr George McLaughlin PP VF, Drumaweir Road, Greencastle. He died peacefully at the Carndonagh Community Hospital, in his 93rd year, former Parish Priest of St. Pius X Church, Moville.

Son of the late Winifred and John McLaughlin, Buncrana, Co. Donegal (RIP), he is predeceased by his brothers, Charlie, Edward, William, John, Paddy and Neil. Deeply regretted by his brother Andy, Nieces, Nephews, Grand Nieces, Grand Nephews, Bishop McKeown and the priests of the Derry diocese.

Fr George's remains are reposing in St  Pius X Church, Moville where you are welcome to pay your respects with Funeral Mass on Monday at 12 followed by burial in Ballybrack Graveyard. Funeral Mass can be viewed live on www.movilleparish.com

Sally Reynolds, Rossnowlagh and London

The death has taken place oeacefully at the Highbury Nursing Home, London of Sarah Reynolds, known as Sally, London and formerly of Coolbeg, Rossnowlagh.

Predeceased by her sisters Katie, Nancy, Mary, brothers Willie, PJ, Anthony, Bobby, Bernard, Danny and Tommy. Forever remembered by her niece and nephew, Ann-Marie and Jim Buckley and her good friend Mary McCabe. Sympathy is extended to all her nieces, nephews and Sally's remaining siblings brother Charlie, Australia.

Her remains are reposing at McGee's Funeral Home, Belleek Road, Ballyshannon on Monday from 7pm to 8pm.

Funeral to arrive at St Patrick's Church, Ballyshannon on Tuesday via Coolbeg and Rossnowlagh for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am with interment in the Abbey Assaroe Cemetery.

Donations in memory of Sally to the NorthWest Hospice, The Mall, Sligo c/o Patrick McKenna Funeral Directors, Ballyshannon.

Gráinne Edwards, Sligo and Carrigart

The death has taken of Gráinne Edwards (née McHugh), White Strand, Aylesbury Park, Sligo and late of Carrigart. She died peacefully surrounded by her family in the loving care of the staff at the Mater Hospital Dublin.

Dearly loved wife of Peter and mother of Yvette and Shivonne. Predeceased by her sister Sr Mary McHugh OSU. Sadly missed by her loving husband and family, brothers Mick, Martin and Joseph, sisters, Sr. Sarah McHugh OSU, Catherine Gunn and Mairéad Callaghan, sons-in-law Conor Heery and Seán Singh, grandchildren Aoife Marie and Julianne Heery, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Her remains are reposing privately at Seán Feehily’s Funeral Home, Cartron Cross, Sligo. Family home private.
