Niece Bonar, Dungloe

The death has occurred in the Donegal Hospice of Niece Bonar, Meenmore, Dungloe.

Niece’s remains are reposing in McGlynn's funeral home on Friday, January 12 from 2pm until rosary at 8pm and again on Saturday from 2pm with removal at 7pm going to St Columba’s church, Acres for 7:30pm where he will repose overnight.

Funeral Mass on Sunday, January 14 at 11:30am with interment afterwards in Belcruit cemetery.

Family flowers only donations in lieu if desired to the Donegal Hospice care of any family member.

Patrick McDaid, Culdaff

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Patrick McDaid (Ned), Templemoyle, Culdaff.

Funeral Mass will take place on Sunday, January 14 at 10.30am in St Patrick’s Church Aughaclay, Malin followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Ignatius Herron (Nacy), St John’s Point

The death has occurred of Ignatius Herron (Nacy), St John’s Point, Dunkineely (Eircode: F94 R624). He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Mater Private Hospital after a short illness.

Lovingly remembered by his wife Roisin, loving father to Orla (Gary), Enda (Sharon), Niamh (Norman), Paul, Alan (Caroline), his brother Cathal and sister Una, his ten adored grandchildren and recently deceased sister Nuala.

Reposing at his late residence on Friday January 12 and Saturday, January 13 from 2pm until 9pm.

Removal from there on Sunday, January 14 going to St Mary’s Church, Killymard for funeral mass at 2pm, with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

One-way system will operate at the wake, entry via the first junction at Killaghtee on the Dunkineely side, and exit at the second junction on the Killybegs side.

Seamus McGee, Gaoth Dobhair

Fuair Seamus McGee as an Ard Donn, Gaoth Dobhair bás in Otharlann na Gaillimhe.

Dhéanfar a fhaire i dTeach Tórraimh Uí Rabhartaigh, Na Doire Beaga (F92 DN4X) Dé hAoine agus Dé Sathairn ón 1 a chlog go dtí’n 8 a chlog.

Curfar Seamus i Reilig Mhachaire Gathlán Dé Domhnaigh i ndiaidh Aifreann 1 a chlog i dTeach Pobail Mhuire, Doire Beaga.

The death has taken place at Galway University Hospital of Seamus McGee, Arduns, Gweedore.

Predeceased by his parents Gracie and Mickey and his brother Cathal, Seamus is sadly missed by his wife Sarah, daughter Ciara, son Cian, his sister Breid and extended family and friends.

His remains will repose at Roarty’s Funeral Home in Derrybeg (F92 DN4X) on Friday and Saturday from 1pm until Rosary at 8pm. 

Removal to his late residence on Saturday after the Rosary. House strictly private to family and close friends that night and the morning of the Funeral.

Bernie McCloskey, Ballyshannon

The peaceful death has taken place of Bernadette (Bernie) McCloskey, née Mulrine, Castle Street, Ballyshannon.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Paudge and sister Patsy, she will be sadly missed by her loving family, Mary (PJ), Kevin (Mary), Shelia (James), her eight adored grandchildren Sarah, Brian, Tommy, Pauric, Maeadb, Garbhán Grace and Alice, nephews Bernard and Alan, niece Merita, extended McCloskey and Mulrine families.

Her remains are reposing at the family home on Friday from 2pm until 8pm Home private at all other times.

Removal from her home on Saturday to arrive at St Patrick's Church, Ballyshannon for 11am Requiem Mass followed by burial in Abbey Cemetery. Bernie's mass will be live streamed on the parish webcam churchservices.tv/stpatricksballyshannon

Mary Brolly, Castlefin

The death has occurred at her late residence of Mary Brolly, née Mc Aleer, Hillhead, Castlefin, F93 AXK5.

Predeceased by her husband Dan, son Damien, granddaughter Emma, and her brother and sister Joe and Annie, much loved mother to Ann, Liam, Helene, Rita, Cecelia, James, and Anthony. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her, sons, daughters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Her remains are reposing at her late residence.

Funeral leaving on Friday at 11.30am for Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Castlefin at 12 noon. Interment will take place afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the Parish Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/urneycastlefinnparish

Margaret Halpin, Buncrana

The death has taken place in Letterkenny University Hospital of Margaret Halpin, née O'Donnell, 1 Westbrook Close, Buncrana, and formerly of Druminderry.

Beloved Mother of Geraldine (Harry), Bernadette (Peter) and Brendan. Grandchildren Aideen and Aoife. Sister of Josie, Jennie, Rosaleen, Phil, Oweney, Domonic and the late Tessie and Mary.

Her remains are reposing at her residence. House Private from 10pm until 11am. 

Funeral from there on Friday at 10.15am going to St Mary's Church, Cockhill for 11am Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Funeral service can be viewed online at www.churchservices.tv/cockhill

Stephen Love, Donegal Town

The sudden death has occurred of Stephen Love, Finnabanes, Donegal Town. 

Adored husband of Glenda and loving father of their children Clara and Sophia. Also dear father of Caoimhe and Jack. Deeply regretted by brothers Bertie, Billy and Thomas, sisters Elizabeth and Margaret. Predeceased by his parents Bob and Sadie and his brother Jack. Deeply mourned and sadly missed by his mother-in-law Anne, aunt June, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and wide circle of friends.

His remains are reposing at his family home on Friday from 3pm to 9pm, and Saturday from 1pm to 6pm. House private at all other times please.  A one way system will operate for the wake. Please enter via Finnabanes and exit via Finnadoose and Clogher.

Mary Nicholls, Letterkenny

The peaceful death has taken place at her home, of Mary Nicholls née McGonagle, Glencar Road, Letterkenny F92 DDW3.

Deeply missed by her loving daughters Maura (Patrick), Anne (Enda), Elaine (John) and her son Enda (Claire), grandchildren Connor, Andrew, Sean, Pádraig, Sarah and Marc, brother-in-law Frank Gallagher, sisters-in-law Eileen McGonagle and Margaret McGonagle, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours. Mary is predeceased by her husband Pat Nicholls, parents Margaret & William McGonagle (Rathdonnell), sisters and brothers Nellie McCormack (Churchill), Frances Gallagher (Letterkenny), William McGonagle (Rathdonnell), Denis McGonagle (Scotland), Margaret McEnroe (Dublin) and Patrick McGonagle (Letterkenny).

Mary’s remains are reposing at her late residence on Thursday and Friday from 12 noon until 10pm with Rosary both nights at 9pm. Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Caroline Stanley, Letterkenny

The death has occurred in the loving care of the staff of the Donegal Hospice of Caroline Stanley, Glenwood Park, Letterkenny and  formerly Cranford and Carrigart.

She is deeply regretted by her loving daughter Dawn and many close friends.

House private please.

Her remains reposed overnight at St Eunan’s Cathedral.

Mary Agnes Foy, Letterkenny and Stranorlar

The death has occurred at Donegal Hospice of Mary Agnes Foy (née McNulty), Whispering Pines, Ballaghderg, Letterkenny, F92 A61W and formerly from Main Street, Stranorlar.

Deeply missed by her loving sons John (and Audrey, Ballybofey), James (and Phillie, Wexford) and daughters Catherine (and Brendan, Cork), Maria (and John Burke, Ballybofey), Louise (and Danny Kelly, Letterkenny) and Helen (and Karl Sweeney, Letterkenny), grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters Anne McCool (Stranorlar) and Margaret Bradley (Leeds, England), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours. Mary Agnes is predeceased by her husband John Joe Foy, grandson John Edward Foy, brothers John Joe, Paddy, Paul, Eamon and Peter and her sister Kathleen Zamuner (Australia).

Her remains are reposing at her late residence with Rosary at 9pm. Family time from 10pm until 12 noon please and on the morning of the funeral.

Jack Baskin, Falcarragh

The death has occurred in Letterkenny University Hospital of Jack Baskin, Killult, Falcarragh.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Martha, daughters Jacqueline,Marbeth, Sylvia, sons Stephen and Derek, brother Albert, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, sister-in law, brother-in-law, grandchildren, great grand-children, nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

Jack's remains will repose at his late residence on Thursday January 11 from 11am until 9pm. House private after 9pm on Thursday and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral service in St Ann's Church, Killult on Friday at 2pm with interment in the adjoining graveyard.

Donations in lieu if desired to patients comfort fund Letterkenny University Hospital in care of any family member, or Sweeney Funeral Directors Falcarragh.

David Watters, Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of David Watters, Upper Creevy, Ballyshannon.

He passed away peacefully after a short illness in Sheffield, England surrounded by his loving family.

Frank Dorrian, Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Frank Dorrian, Holloway, London, unexpectedly at his home.

Devoted father of Charlotte, beloved brother to Gerald, Katherine, James and Elaine, and beloved brother-in-law to Marie. Sadly missed by his four nieces and extended family and friends. Predeceased by his loving parents Frank and Margaret, née Doherty, of Ballyshannon and London.

His remains will be reposing at his home, 13 Melchester House, Wedmore Street, Holloway, London on the evening of January 11.

Funeral leaving from there for 10am Requiem Mass on January 12 at The Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Eden Grove, Holloway, London with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
