Gráinne O'Doherty, Donegal Town

The death has occurred on September 4 of Gráinne O’Doherty, Maldon House, The Glebe, Donegal Town aged 91 years. Peacefully, in the presence of her family and the exceptional care of staff at Letterkenny University Hospital. Deeply regretted by her sisters Mary (Sr Paula), Francis (Bert), Bernie, her nieces, nephews and extended family.

Predeceased by her parents Thomas John and Elizabeth, sisters Margaret and Eilis, brothers Gene and Tommy. Reposing at Maldon House, The Glebe, Donegal Town on Tuesday, September 5 from 1pm-9pm. Funeral Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Donegal Town on Wednesday morning, September 6 at 11am, with burial immediately afterwards in The Old Abbey Cemetery, Donegal Town.


Nina Ruane, Basingstoke, England / Bundoran

The death has occurred of Nina Ruane, Basingstoke, England and previously, Bundoran. Nina sadly left this life on August 28 after a brief illness.

Forever in the hearts of her husband Jarlath Corbett, their daughters Sinéad and Meadbh, her siblings Adrian, Brendan, Darina, Meadbh, Patrick, James and Shena, her extended family, including nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in law and her friends and colleagues.

Cremation service at 2.45pm on Thursday, September 7 at Basingstoke Crematorium, RG25 2BA

Michael Byrne, Artane, Dublin and Donegal

The death has occurred of Michael Byrne, Artane, Dublin and Donegal. He passed away following a long illness carried with dignity and courage in the wonderful care of the staff of Letterkenny University Hospital.

Michael will be forever loved and deeply missed by his beloved wife Teresa, son Ciaran together with his partner Gail and their children Daniel and Hollie, son Colm together with his wife Róisín and their children Ultan, Saoirse, Saidbhe and Naoise, daughter Niamh and her fiancé John, his sister Breda, brother-in-law Gabriel his brother Edward, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and especially his close family friends Raj, Martina, Shanti and Ravi and wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Lanigan's Funeral Home, Beaumont Road (D09VW90) on Tuesday, September 5, from 2pm to 4pm. Removal to the Church of Nativity Beaumont on Wednesday, September 6 arriving for 10am Requiem Mass followed by cremation at 12.30pm in Dardistown Crematorium, Collinstown Cross, Old Airport Road, Dublin.

Margaret O’Loughlin (née Carr), 19 An Lagan Gorm, Laghey

The death has occurred of Margaret O’Loughlin (née Carr), 19 An Lagan Gorm, Laghey.
She passed away peacefully at her residence. Reposing at the family home on Tuesday, September 5 from 2pm until 9pm.

Removal on Wednesday, September 6 for 11am funeral Mass in St Brigid’s Church, Ballintra, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

House strictly private on the morning of the funeral. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu to Donegal Community Hospital c/o Jackie Carron Funeral Directors or any family member.


Patrick McLaughlin, 26 Fernhill, Letterkenny / Skelpy, Castlefin

The death has taken place of Patrick McLaughlin, 26 Fernhill, Letterkenny and Skelpy, Castlefin.
Remains will repose at his mother-in-law, Tulip McCrory’s residence, Skelpy, Castlefin, (F93VIDW).

Funeral from there on Wednesday, September 6, at 11.30am going to St Columba’s Church, Doneyloop for 12 noon Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
Family flowers only. Donations if desired to St Vincent De Paul, Castlefin c/o Kennedy Funeral Directors, Castlefin.

Family time please from 11pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral.


Hughie Galbraith, Porthall, Lifford

The death has occurred of Hughie Galbraith, Porthall, Lifford (F93K0FK).
Predeceased by his sister Eileen, brothers Mossie, Davy, Andy, Willy and Bertie. Deeply regretted by his brother Eddie, sisters Isobel, Anne and Maureen, nieces, nephews and wider family circle.

His remains will repose at the home of his sister Maureen Colhun, 314 Coneyburrow Road, Lifford (F93K0FK). Funeral service there on Tuesday, September 5 at 2pm followed by burial in the family plot in Ballylennon Presbyterian churchyard.
Family flowers only please, donation in lieu if desired to Ballylennon Presbyterian Church care of any family member or Terence McClintock, funeral director.


Danny McNern Wicklow / Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Danny McNern, Bray, Wicklow and Ballyshannon.
He passed away on September 2, in the wonderful care of St Colmcille’s Hospital, Loughlinstown, after a life well lived. He will be sadly missed by his dearly loved wife Teresa, his brother Tommy, his niece and nephews, his sister-in-law Patricia, his extended family and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Colliers Funeral Home, Old Connaught Avenue, Bray on Wednesday, September 6 from 10.30am until a Service takes place in the funeral home at 12 noon followed by cremation in Mount Jerome, Harold’s Cross, Dublin 6W.

Kathleen McNicholas (née Gallagher), 2, Ashley Park, Ramelton Road, Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Kathleen McNicholas, (née Gallagher), 2, Ashley Park, Ramelton Road, Letterkenny. Deeply regretted by the McNicholas and Gallagher families (Pettigo), in-laws, relatives, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at her late home. Funeral from there on Tuesday, September 5, going to the Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballyraine Letterkenny for 1pm Requiem Mass followed by burial in the family plot in Conwal Cemetery. The peaceful death has occurred at Donegal Hospice of Peter Gavigan, Stroughter, Kilraine, Glenties. Deeply regretted by his brother Patrick (Birmingham) niece, nephews neighbours and friends.

Sarah Theresa Anthony, Glebe, Ballyare, Ramelton

The peaceful death has taken place in Ramelton Community Hospital of Sarah Theresa Anthony, Glebe, Ballyare, Ramelton, (F92 P5N8) Doaghmore, Fanad.

Remains reposing at her home. Removal from there on Tuesday, September 5 at 6.30pm going to St Mary’s Church, Fanavolty arriving at 7.30pm to repose overnight.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday, September 6 at 10am. Burial afterwards in Fanavolty Cemetery.
House private to family and friends.


Peter Bonar, Swords, Dublin / Ballybofey

The death has occurred of Peter Bonar, Swords, Dublin and formerly of Ballybofey. He passed away peacefully at CareChoice Nursing Home Swords.

Beloved husband of the late Rosemary and father of the late Michael.

Sadly missed by his loving daughters Deirdre and Rita, son Niall, sons-in-law Tommy and John, daughter-in-law Colette, grandchildren Daniel, Clara, Katie, Beckie, Adam, Orla, Amy and Shane, brother Plunkett, sisters-in-law Madeline, Gay and Anne, brothers-in-law Mikey, Dessie and John, nieces, nephews, including Michael, David and Mark, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Rock's Funeral Home, Swords on Tuesday, September 5, from 6pm-7pm. Removal on Wednesday, September 6, to St Colmcille’s Church, Swords arriving for 10am Mass followed by burial to adjoining cemetery.

David Campbell Rankin, Ture, Muff

The death has occurred of David Campbell Rankin. He passed away peacefully at his home, Ture, Muff. Beloved husband of Elsie, loving father of David, Pauline and Alan, devoted grandfather of David, Robbie, Ellie and Robert and dear brother of the late Robin.

House strictly private at all other times, please. Funeral Service in Greenbank Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, September 5 at 1.30pm. Interment afterwards in the adjoining burying ground.

James McClenaghan, Greencastle

The sudden death has occurred in Melbourne, Australia, of James Mc Clenaghan, formerly St Martin's, Greencastle.

Beloved husband of Lisa and much-loved father of Finn and Harriet, cherished son of Maureen and the late Jim McClenaghan. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife, son, daughter, mother, sisters, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, mother and father-in-law, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

A Service to celebrate his life will take place at WD Rose Brighton, 139 Marriage Road, on Friday, September 8 at 2pm.
