Derek McGrath, Laghey

The death has occurred of Derek McGrath, Trummon East, Laghey. Unexpectedly, at his home. Predeceased by his mother, Dorothy, his father, Michael, brothers, Joe, Sammy and Jim, sisters, Bridie and May.

Derek will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving family, his caring wife Bernie, his sons, P.J. and Shane (Elaine), daughters, Amanda (Killian) and Leanne (Chris), his doting grandchildren, Tyler Jay, Nadia Rose and Brayden. Dearly loved by his brothers and sisters and by his In-laws, extended family and friends.

Funeral arrangements are to be announced later. House private to family only, please.


Teresa O'Donnell, Buncrana

The death has taken place, at Letterkenny University Hospital, of Teresa O'Donnell, (née Duffy), Clonbeg, Buncrana. Predeceased by her husband Gerald. Much loved mother of Kevin, Anita, Amanda and Gerald; loving sister of Mary, Charlie and the late Kay. Deeply regretted and will be forever missed by her sons, daughters, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, sister, brother, wider family circle and her many friends.

Removal from Murphy's Funeral Home (F93PW96) on Tuesday, July 18, at 3pm going to her late residence. Removal from there on Thursday morning, July 20, at 10.30am to St Mary's Church, Cockhill, for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Danny Sharkey, Bridgend

The death has occurred, at his residence, of Danny Sharkey, Elaghbeg, Burnfoot. Retired principal of St Aengus' N.S., Bridgend and former presenter on Highland Radio.

Predeceased by his wife Máire, his daughter Máire and his brother John Patrick. Much loved father of Donal, Patrick and John and dear brother-in-law of Breege Hampson. Deeply regretted by his loving sons, grandchildren, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, his wider family circle and many friends.

Reposing at Murphy's Funeral Home (F93 PW96) on Wednesday, July 19 and Thursday, July 20 from 4pm to 10pm and on Friday, July 21 from 3pm to 6pm with removal at 6pm to St Aengus' Church, Burt to repose overnight. Requiem Mass Saturday morning, July 22 at 11am followed by interment in Burt Cemetery.

Kathleen Irwin, Stranorlar

The death has occurred of Kathleen Irwin, 19 Mulreany Terrace, Stranorlar. Peacefully at her late residence, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Francie and devoted mother of Maria (Stewart), Geraldine, Patricia (John), Josephine (Duncan) ,Frank (Caitriona), Veronica (Seamus), Cecilia (John), Rosemary (Martin),Margaret (Alan), Martin (Kathryn),Katrina (Keith), Barry (Zoe), Brendan (Tracy), cherished sister of Jean, Rosemary, Grace, and the late Ian. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her family grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family.

Funeral leaving from her late residence on Thursday, July 20, at 10.30am for Requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11am. Interment afterwards in Drumboe Cemetery.

Liz McGlinchey, Letterkenny

The peaceful death took place on Monday, July 17 at Letterkenny University Hospital, of Liz McGlinchey, (née Stewart), Brookside House, Covehill, Port Road, Letterkenny and formerly from West Port, Ballyshannon.
Deeply missed by her loving daughters Karen, Adrienne and Dolores and sons Paul and Ray, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters Carmel Revello (Dublin) and Dolores Daggitt (Enniskillen), her good friend Eleanor, nieces, nephews and wide circle of family, friends and neighbours.

Her remains will be reposing at her late residence on Tuesday, July 18, from 2pm until 10pm pm and on Wednesday, July 19 from 12 noon until 10pm with Rosary both nights at 9pm.

Funeral from there on Thursday, July 20, at 10.30am going to St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny

Private cremation will follow at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan. Family time on the morning of the funeral, please.


John McGuinness, Killybegs

The death has occurred of John McGuinness, Drimbarity, Killybegs. Sadly missed by his brother Michael, sister-in-law Kathleen, nephew Paul and wife Natalie, grand nephew Shay and grand-niece Sherrin, niece Marie, nephew Paul, relatives and friends.

Removal from McBrearty’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 18 at 10.30am to St Mary of the Visitation Church, Killybegs for 11am funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

Jim Quinn, Letterkenny / Buncrana

The death has taken place of Michael Jim Quinn, Rossbracken, Letterkenny and formerly of Backhill, Meenagorey, Buncrana.

Deeply shocked and saddened by his loss are his wife Pauline, daughters Emma Paula, Iris, Amanda and sons Derek and Steven, sons and daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandson.

Jim will be sorely missed by has brothers and sisters John, Patrick, Kathleen, Annette, Marie, Cindy and Martin, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, wider family circle and his many valued friends and neighbours.

Predeceased by his parents Jimmy and Kathleen Quinn and his nephews Gavin Duffy and Darren Quinn.

Funeral leaving Rpssbracken at 2pm on July 18 going to the Quinn family home, Meenagorey, Buncrana, (F93 W8K1) to repose overnight.

Funeral from there at 10am on Wednesday morning, July 19 travelling to St Mary’s Church, Cockhill for Requiem Mass at 11am. His remains will be leaving the Porter Funeral Home at 1.30pm travelling to Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.


Christy McCarron, St Johnston

The sudden death has occurred in Letterkenny University Hospital of Christy McCarron, 384 Ard Baithin, St Johnston.

Lovingly missed by his wife Mary, daughters and sons Sheena, Diane, Louise, Finola, Esther, Imelda, Christina, Ciera, Christopher, Leona, Nicola, Charlotte, Darren, Sophie, sons-in-law, and daughters-in-law, his 15 grandchildren, brother Colm (Scotland), nieces, nephews and all his extended family and friends.

Christy was predeceased by his parents, brothers and sisters may they all rest in peace.

He will be reposing from his late residence on Wednesday, July 19.

Funeral leaving from there on Thursday, July 20 at 10.15am going to St Baithin’s Church, St Johnston for 11am Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Harry Parker, Raphoe

The death has taken place at Brindley Manor Nursing Home, Convoy of Harry Parker, Craigg’s Road, Raphoe.

Deeply regretted by his brother John, sister Iris and brother Davie.

His remains will repose at his late residence. House private please.

Removal from his home on Wednesday, July 19 at 1.30pm for 2pm funeral Service in Raphoe Presbyterian Church, followed by burial in the family plot in the adjoining graveyard.

Grace Ellen Hill, Falcarragh

The death has taken place of Grace Ellen Hill, (née Gallagher), (Tandy), Rocktown, Falcarragh (F92 H2C6) on Sunday, July 16, aged 102 years.

Grace passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her loving husband Christy. Mother of Mary, Jimmy and Anne. aunt of Bernard, Anne, Mary, Madge, Patsy, Manus and Siobhan. Grandmother of Jeremy, Nicola, Catherine, Christopher, Emma and Rachel and great-grandmother of five.

Her remains will be reposing at her late residence, Rocktown, Falcarragh on Tuesday, July 18, until 9pm. Funeral Mass at 12 midday on Wednesday, July 19, in St Fionan's Church, Falcarragh, after which Grace will be laid to rest in Falcarragh Cemetery. Family flowers only and if desired, donations to Aras Ghaoth Dobhair.

Eileen Byrne, Ballybofey

The death has occurred at her late residence of Eileen Byrne, Carrickmagrath, Ballybofey. (F93 YR63). Beloved wife of John and much loved mother of Stephen (Karin) Carl (Michelle), Mary Sue (Brendan), Margaret (Paddy) and Eimear; cherished sister of John and sister-in-law Mary and predeceased by her parents Anthony and Susan, brothers Jackie, Tony, Gerald and sister-in-law Katie. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her family, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Remains reposing at her late residence. Funeral leaving from there on Tuesday, July 18 at 10.20am for Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Sessiaghoneill at 11am, with interment in the adjoining graveyard. John Bourke, Moville

The death has taken place of John Bourke, Gulladuff, Moville.

Family time please from 8pm to 11am.

Requiem Mass will take place on Wednesday, July 19, at 11am in St Columba’s Church, Ballinacrae, Moville followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.


Brendan McClenaghan, Bundoran

The sudden death occurred on July 15 at his home of Brendan McClenaghan, 3 St Bridget's Terrace, Drumacrin Road, Bundoran. Deeply regretted and forever remembered by his loving family, his beloved partner Antoinette Delaney, his cherished daughters Roisin, Caoimhe and Claire, his grandchildren, brothers Sean, Joseph, Kevin and Martin, his sister Maria, the Delaney family and all his many nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Predeceased by his parents Seamus and Elizabeth McClenaghan, his brother Jim and sisters Colette, Eilish and Margaret.

Reposing at the family home, 3 St. Bridget's Terrace. House private all other times, please. Removal from his late residence on Tuesday, July 18 at 10.30am to arrive at the Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea, Bundoran for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Ninnidh's Cemetery, Newtown, Bundoran.
