Ben Geraghty, 2 Castlegardens, Drumboe Lower, Stranorlar / Cavan / Monaghan

The peaceful death has taken place at St Joseph’s Hospital Stranorlar on Friday, May 26 of Ben Geraghty, Retired Garda, 2 Castlegardens, Drumboe Lower, Stranorlar (F93 F1H5) and formerly from Letterkenny and Cavan. Deeply missed by his loving wife Susan and their family Teresa, Brian, Sandra, Michelle, John and Richard, his beloved grandchildren, extended family, friends and neighbours. Ben is predeceased by his son Mark.

House private to family and close friends, please.

Funeral Mass on Monday, May 29 at 11am in St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny which can be viewed live on www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny. Interment afterwards in Conwal Cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to St Joseph’s Hospital, Stranorlar c/o any family member.

Imelda Harvey (née Green), Burneside House, Drumnahoagh, Bonagee, Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Imelda Harvey (née Green), Burneside House, Drumnahoagh, Bonagee, Letterkenny, (F92 VEOP). Peacefully surrounded by her loving family and in the caring hands of the staff in the Donegal Hospice.

Predeceased by husband Sean (December 1999), parents Catherine and Eddie, Siblings Leo, Gertie, Phil, Hugh, Susy and Sean. Deeply regretted by sons Gary and wife Carmen, Ivan and partner Michelle, Paul and wife Marie, Keith and wife Anna. Deeply saddened by her brother Eamon (Longford), grandchildren and great-grandchildren, extended family members, neighbours and many good friends.

Imelda's remains will be reposing at her late residence from 12 noon today, Sunday, May 28 until 10pm. Funeral from there on Monday morning going to The Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballyraine, Letterkenny for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial in the family plot in New Leck Cemetery.

Family time on morning of funeral. Family flowers only donations to the Donegal Hospice care of any family member.

Helen Veronica (Vera) McFadden (née Johnston), Derry / Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Helen Veronica (Vera) McFadden (née Johnston), Derry / Letterkenny,
peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, Derry. Vera, local author and historian, loving mother of Mary, Margaret and Jimmy, devoted grandmother of Jennie, Sarah, Gillian, Catherine and Emma and great-grandmother of Katie and Bella, dear mother-in-law to Gillian, Dan and David, loving sister of Bernie and her deceased brothers and sisters. Sadly missed by the wider family circle. House private from 10.30pm. to 12 noon.

Funeral leaving her home at 65 Whitehouse Park on Monday, May 29 at 10.20am to St Brigid’s Church, Carnhill for Requiem Mass at 11am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery.

Family flowers only, donations in lieu, if wished, to Capuchin Day Centre, 29 Bow Street, Dublin 7.

The death has taken place of Ann Woods, Quay Street, Moville.

Patrick (Pat) Guilfoyle, Chapel Street, Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Patrick (Pat) Guilfoyle, Chapel Street, Ballyshannon. Retired garda. Unexpectedly. Forever remembered by his wife Carmel, his daughters Lisa, Patricia, Maeve and Carmel, his sons-in-law Joey, Karsten and his grandchild Aisling. Predeceased by his brothers Martin, Eddie, Joe, and sisters Margaret, Ann and Leonie. Sadly missed by his sister Pauline and brother-in-law Steve, brother Bill and sister-in-law May, his many nieces, nephews, his extended family, friends and neighbours.

Removal from his late residence today, Sunday morning at 10.45am to arrive at St. Patrick's Church, Ballyshannon for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am followed by interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, The Rock.

Donations in lieu of flowers to the Irish Heart Foundation c/o Patrick McKenna Funeral Directors, Ballyshannon. House private to family, neighbours and close friends.

James Cunnigham, St Johns Point, Dunkineely / Silversprings, Cork

The peaceful death has occurred of James Cunnigham, at St John’s Point, Donegal, of Silversprings Co Cork. Husband of the late Ann (née Cashman) and devoted father of Paul and Clare and adored grandfather of Eoin, Jack, Cormac and Donnacha.

Sadly missed by his children, grandchildren, sister Diane, brother Patrick, son-in-law Colin, sister-in-law Nora, niece Jessica, nephews Martin and Stephen, brothers-in-law Bill and Pa, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing at Keohane’s Funeral Home, Old Youghal Road, Mayfield, on Tuesday, May 30, from 5pm with prayers at 5.45pm.

Requiem Mass on Wednesday, May 31, at 11am in Our Lady Crowned Church, Mayfield, followed by funeral to St Catherine’s Cemetery, Kilcully.

Dorothy Gibson (Doris) Pittman (née Bolton), 27, Orchard Grove, Letterkenny

The peaceful death has taken place in St. Eunan’s Nursing Home, Letterkenny on May 26 of Dorothy Gibson (Doris) Pittman (née Bolton), beloved wife of the late David. Sadly missed by her family. Mum to Robert (Yogi) and his wife Hari, Anne Condon and her husband Dermot, Martin and Peter and his partner Nicolette. Granny to Joshua, Garret, Connor and Jessica.

Doris will be reposing at her late residence, 27, Orchard Grove, Letterkenny (F92 YV5D) from noon to 10pm today, Sunday, May 28.

House private please on the morning of the funeral.

Service of Thanksgiving will be held in Conwal Parish Church on Monday 29 at 2pm. Cremation Service at Mount Jerome Dublin on Tuesday 30 at 2.15pm (on her 89th birthday).

Leo Penrose, Westmeath, N91 Y291 / Buncrana

The death has occurred of Leo Penrose, Ballynacargy, Westmeath, N91 Y291 / late of Buncrana, formerly of Ballynacargy, Co Westmeath and London died peacefully on May 26 2023 in ICU at Letterkenny University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Elizabeth, brothers Bill, Pat, Thomas, Birdie, Robin and Jodie, sisters Alice and Lena. Deeply missed by his loving wife Eileen, heartbroken daughters Eileen (Ronan) and Alice (Doherty), son-in-laws John and Patrick, devoted grandchildren James and Alice, sisters Vera (Maher) and Florrie (Glynn), brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at his daughter Alice’s home in Buncrana today, Sunday, May 28, 2pm-10pm before travelling on Monday, May 29 to repose at his nephew Willie Penrose’s home, Ballintue, Ballynacargy, Co Westmeath N91 Y291 from 6pm. Arriving to Church of The Nativity, Ballynacargy for requiem Mass on Tuesday May 30 at 11am with burial after in Sonna Cemetery.


Phyllis Kyles (née Gillespie), Kilaned, Glencolmcille

The death has taken place of Phyllis Kyles (nee Gillespie), Kilaned, Glencolmcille. She passed way peacefully after a short illness at Letterkenny Hospice. Predeceased by her parents Peter and Bridget, her brothers Patrick, Christopher, Martin and her beloved husband Gabriel. Deeply missed by her son David, granddaughter Kristen and her sisters Sarah and Maureen. Sadly missed by her nieces and nephew, grandnieces and grandnephews, extended family and friends.

The peaceful death has taken place at her home of Margaret McLaughlin, Cotteen, Derrybeg. Sadly missed by her daughter Clodagh, son Hayden, parents Bridie and John, brother John, nieces Kelly, Karla and Enya, nephew Jamie and extended family and friends. Predeceased by her brother James.

Remains reposing at her home.

The death has taken place at the Carndonagh Community Hospital of Francis McColgan (Lafferty), Glentoskert, Glengad, Malin. Reposing at the home of his nephew, Neil and Mary McColgan, Glentoskert.

Family time please from 10pm to 10am.

Funeral Mass will take place on Sunday morning, May 28 at 10.30am in St Patrick’s Church, Aughaclay, Malin followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations if desired to the Patients Comfort Fund, Carndonagh Community Hospital c/o any family member of Liam Collins Funeral Director.

The death has taken place at his home of Dan McEleney, Malin Well, Ballygorman, Malin Head.
His remains are reposing at his home.

Removal from there this Sunday morning, May 28t at 11.30am for 12 noon Mass in the Star of the Sea Church, Malin Head with interment afterwards in Lagg Cemetery, Malin.
House private to 11am.


John Murphy, The Gort, Carndonagh

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of John Murphy, The Gort, Carndonagh.
His remains are reposing at his home.

Funeral from there today Sunday, May 28 at 10.30am going to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Carndonagh for 11am funeral Mass with interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.


Rosemary Sheridan, Glasgow / Creevary, Rathmullan

The peaceful death has taken place in Glasgow of Rosemary Sheridan, formerly of Creevary, Rathmullan.

Deeply regretted by her sister Kathleen Hazlett, sister-in-law Kathleen Sheridan, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and very many friends.

Margaret Gilchrist, Ballykerrigan and Dunfermline

The death has occurred of Margaret Gilchrist (née Kelly) formerly Ballykerrigan, aged 83 years with her husband and children by her side.

Sadly missed by her husband Jim and children Connie, Gary, Gilly, Paul, Carmel and Colleen, her 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
