Maisie Scott, Essex, and Kilmacrennan

Following the passing of Maisie Scott, Romford, Essex, England and formerly Ballyheerin, Kilmacrennan in February 2021, a Service of Thanksgiving for her life will be held at Kilmacrenan Presbyterian Church on Sunday afternoon, April 30 at 3pm followed by interment of ashes in the family plot in the adjoining graveyard.

Robert Magee, Raphoe

The sudden death has taken place of Robert Magee, Tops, Demense, Raphoe.

Dearly loved husband of Yvonne, much loved father of Olivia (Norman), Angus (Dorinda), Lucinda (Darrell), Diane (Bryan) Lynette (Dermot), grandchildren Ben, Adam, Ryhs, Jacob, Pippa and Willow.

Robert will be sadly missed by his brothers Addie, Sammy, William, Jim and Joe, his sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

His remains will repose at his late residence from 1pm on Friday, April 28.

Funeral leaving from there on Sunday afternoon, April 30th at 1.15pm for 2pm funeral service in Raphoe Presbyterian Church, followed by burial in the family plot in the adjoining graveyard.

Family time please from 10pm to 10am and on the morning of the funeral.

Family flowers only, donations in lieu to the Coronary care unit Letterkenny University Hospital and Raphoe Orange Lodge 1921 care of any family member or Terence McClintock funeral director.

John Joe Harkin, Clonmany

The death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital of John Joe Harkin, Gaddyduff, Clonmany. 

Beloved husband of Maud, and much loved father of Gabriel, John Joe and Oliver. Deeply regretted by his brothers, sisters, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and extended family members.

His remains are reposing at his late residence. Family time please from 10pm to 11am.

Funeral from there on Saturday at 10.30am going to St Mary’s Church, Clonmany for Requiem Mass at 11am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. John Joe’s Funeral Mass can be viewed live here.

Michael Murphy, Buncrana

The death has occurred of Michael Murphy, San Francisco and formerly of 10 Marian Park, Buncrana.

Beloved husband of Carol, much loved daddy of Michelle, Siobhan and Deborah, stepfather of Aaron and Teal and dear brother of Margaret and Charlotte and uncle of Jonathan. He is deeply regretted and will be forever missed by his wife, daughters, stepchildren, grandchildren, sisters, nephew, his extended family, relatives and friends.

His remains will be reposing at the home of his daughter Siobhan, 11, Baile na Carraige, Rockytown, Buncrana from 10am to 10pm on Sunday.

Removal from there on Monday at 10.15am to St Mary's Church, Cockhill for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Requiem Mass can be viewed here.

Joseph Doherty, Dublin and Donegal Town

The death has occurred peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Blackrock Hospice, Dublin, of Joseph (Joe) Doherty, Ballsbridge, Dublin and formerly of Donegal Town.

Deeply missed and loved by his wife Deirdre, sons Stephen and Niall, daughter Joanne, his very precious grandchildren Karenza, Lauren and Daniel, son-in-law Andy, sister Colette and husband Peter. Also dearly missed by his nieces, nephews and partners, brothers and sisters-in-law, extended family, friends and neighbours.

His remains are reposing at Massey Bros Funeral Home, 5 Newtown Park, Blackrock on Thursday from 4pm to 6pm.

Funeral Mass on Friday at 10 am in Star of the Sea Church in Sandymount, followed by burial in Deansgrange Cemetery. Mass can be viewed here.

William (Bán) Mc Fadden, Gaoth Dobhair

The death has taken place in Letterkenny University Hospital of William (Bán) Mc Fadden, Knockfola, Gaoth Dobhair.

Predeceased by his sister Nellie, he is sadly missed by his wife Annie, sons Colin, Des, John and Pius, daughters Frances & Celine, grandchildren Caoimhe, Cianán, Odhrán, Aoibhe, Dáithí and Alannah, brothers John and Jim, sister Kitty, son-in-law John, daughters-in-law Pamela, Caroline and Tricia and extended family and friends.

His remains are reposing at Roarty's Funeral Home, Derrybeg (F92 DN4X) until rosary time at 8pm. Removal then to his daughter Frances Gallagher's house, Upper Keeldrum, Gortahork.

House private on Thursday night, Friday, and on the morning of the funeral (family only).

Funeral Mass in St Colmcille's Church, Knockfola, on Saturday at 11am, with burial afterwards in Knockfola Cemetery.

Paddy Lyons, Ballybofey

The death has occurred of Paddy Lyons, Corraine, Ballybofey, peacefully at the Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny, surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved son of the late Michael and Bridget Lyons, much-loved brother of Michael, May, Kathleen and John. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, sisters in law, brothers in law extended family, neighbours and friends.

His remains are reposing at McCool’s Funeral home, Ballybofey, with visiting time on Thursday from 5pm to 9pm. Rosary on both nights at 9pm.

Funeral leaving there on Friday at 11.20am for Requiem Mass in the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Glenfin, at 12 noon. Interment will take place afterwards in Kilteevogue Cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the parish webcam here.

Donations in lieu of flowers, if so desired, to the Donegal Hospice, care of any family member.

Anne Begley, Tipperary and Carndonagh

The death has occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family of Anne Begley (née Houghton) Avondale Crescent, Tipperary Town and formerly Ard Colgan, Carndonagh.

She is deeply regretted by her daughter Sinead, son-in-law Niall, adored grandchildren Charlie, Tiernan and Robyn, Sinead’s father Frank, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Her remains are reposing at Fogarty’s Funeral Home, Blind Street, Tipperary, on Thursday from 5.30pm to 7pm.

Removal from there to St Michael’s Church, Tipperary Town at 11.45 am for Requiem Mass at 12 noon on Friday, with burial immediately afterwards in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Tipperary Town. Anne’s Requiem Mass can be viewed here.

John (Teish) Gallagher, Falcarragh

The peaceful death has taken place of John Teish Gallagher, St Joseph's, Drumfin, Falcarragh.

Survived by his wife Bridie, his daughters Patricia, Eileen and Bernadette, his sons Danny, Joe, John Anthony and Paul he is also sadly missed by his sisters Margaret and Nellie, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sons-in-law and daughters-in-law.

His remains will repose at his late residence, Drumfin, Falcarragh F92 F791 with Rosary each night at 9pm. House private after rosary each night until 10am and on the morning of the funeral.

Charlotte Sheeran, Laghey, Carrick-on-Shannon and Magherafelt

The death has occurred peacefully at home surrounded by her family, of Charlotte Sheeran, (née O'Driscoll), Sallybrook, Mullinasole, Laghey and formerly of Carrick-on-Shannon and Magherafelt.

Predeceased by her husband John and her brothers and sisters Monica, Nancy, Denis, Fonsie, Tom, Canice, Joe and Noel, she is sadly missed by her children John, Jane, Denis, Mary and Mark, their spouses and her wonderful grandchildren. House private please.

Removal to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Mountcharles, on Thursday to arrive at 7pm for Funeral Mass on Friday at 1pm with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Donations in lieu, if wished, to Unicef Ireland. 

Seán Ó Beirne, Teileann

Fuair Seán Ó Beirne, Seán Chon Johnny mar ab fhearr aithne air, as an Atharach, Teileann, bás tobann maidin Dé Sathairn.

Cailliúint mhór é dá thriúr deirfiúracha, Máire, Eileen agus Anna Bella (Norah), a dheartháir céile William, a neacht Aisling agus a bheirt nianna John agus Liam chomh maith le neart gaolta, comharsan agus cairde.

Beidh faire ina theach cónaithe ó thráthnóna Dé Céadaoine, 2in.

Cuirfear é i Reilig na Carraige, Dé hAoine, i ndiaidh Aifreann a 12 i dTeach Pobail na Carraige.

Seán Byrne, known as Seán Chon Johnny, passed away suddenly on Saturday.

He will be sadly missed by his sisters Máire, Eileen and Anna Bella (Norah), his brother-in-law William, his niece Aisling and his nephews John and Liam, and a wide circle of relatives and friends.

His remains are reposing at his late residence.

Removal to St Columba’s Church, Carrick on Friday for 12 noon Funeral Mass and burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to Donegal Mental Health Services, c/o Curran’s Funeral Services.

Seán was a much-loved, talented musician and singer and will be greatly missed in the local community and among musicians all over the country. The Byrne family would like to thank you all for your kind support at this difficult time.

Val Phillips, Drogheda and Letterkenny

The  unexpected death has occurred of Val (Edward Valentine) Phillips, late of Letterkenny and formerly of Boyle O’Reilly, Drogheda, County Louth.

Predeceased by his parents Mary Catherine and Peter, brother Brian and daughter-in-law Nicola, he is sadly missed by his daughters Mandy and Catherine, sons Mark and David and their mother Claire, sons-in-law Graham and Noel, daughters-in-law Bernie and Emma, sisters Mary, Hilda, Rosaleen, Bernie, Dolores and Doreen, brother Peter, his 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Tony Clarke, Buncrana

The sudden death has occurred of Tony Clarke, 24 Cloncool Park, Buncrana.

Husband of Michelle and dear father of Nicola, Darren, Shannon, Callum, Jordan, Caolán and Molly, he is deeply regretted by his wife, sons, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, his extended family and friends.

His remains are reposing at Murphy's Funeral Home (F93PW96) on Thursday from 6pm to 9pm each evening.

Removal Friday at 9.15am to St Mary's Oratory, Buncrana for 10am Requiem Mass followed by cremation at 4pm in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan. Requiem Mass can be viewed here.
