As Paul Mescal is set to make his Saturday Night Live hosting debut this weekend, they have released a hilarious teaser for the episode in which Mescal seems to struggle to break his Gladiator 2 character.

The Irishman impressed his two fellow actors being early to the table read for show, before snapping back into the character of Lucius after Devon Walker tells Heidi Gardner that she is holding his script.

Mescal breaks into character saying "And so it shall be, a fight to the death." After pulling out a sword the he declares "For glory and for truth."

Following this SNL actor Mikey Day informs Mescal that he will be playing Donald Trump Jr on the show and not Mescal to which Day says "Wow, what a nice guy." We then see an arrow fly through the chest of Day as the camera pans to Mescal who says "A man must fight for what is rightfully his. I will have vengeance or I will have death."

The Irishman laughs and finishes the teaser with "It's gonna be real fun this week guys, see you at the read through."

The full teaser can be found on the SNL X account HERE or through the social post below this article.
