Sigita from Arán with Jonathan Rhys Meyers / PICTURE: Arán Kilkenny
Acclaimed actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers, best known for his portrayal of King Henry VIII in the TV series The Tudors, was spotted out and about in Kilkenny at the weekend.
The Dubliner was pictured with members of staff in the Arán bakery on Sunday.
The bakery's social media post captured the excitement of the visit, humorously noting, "We had Royalty in the house yesterday. King Henry VIII came for a bit of brunch."
They extended their gratitude to Meyers, stating, "Jonathan Rhys Meyers, thank you for visiting our little restaurant. Hope you enjoyed every bite, Sire ."
Sigita, the bakery's manager, was particularly thrilled, and was jokingly referred to as Meyers' "humble servant" for the day.
The actor is also known for his roles in films such as Michael Collins (1996), Velvet Goldmine (1998), Titus (1999), Bend It Like Beckham (2002), Alexander (2004), Match Point (2005) and Mission: Impossible III (2006).
