Ireland's biggest New Year's celebrations: What's on during the festival in Dublin

The countdown is on for the New Year’s Festival in Dublin.

Ring in 2024 with Ireland’s Biggest New Year’s Celebration and get ready to enjoy 4 days of celebrations across the city with over 40 acts set to perform across 3 iconic venues from 29th December 2023 through to 1 January 2024. 

Ring in the New Year at the NYF Festival Quarter at the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks with a host of stellar performances set to take place across 3 stages over 3 days. 

On 29th December, headliners The Divine Comedy take to the stage with special guests The High Kings, Amble, All Tvvins, Lucy McWilliams, Big Sleep, Aonair and DJs Ed Smith, Sally Cinnamon & Kelly-Anne Byrne. 

Dec Pierce’s Block Rockin’ Beats headlines 30th December with Chasing Abbey, Ryan Mack, Jen Payne, HamSandwich, R.S.A.G, Sinead White, Chubby Cat and DJs Emma Power, Shelly Gray & Fergal D'Arcy also taking to the stage. 

The Scratch will ring in the New Year on 31 December with special guests Sharon Shannon, Gemma Dunleavy,Hermitage Green, Ispíní na hÉireann, Lemoncello, Anamoe Drive, Krea and DJs Nialler9, Claire Beck & Blood Donor (DJ set).

On New Year’s Eve swing by NYF Festival hub on Capel Street, D1 from 6pm, enjoy the on-street vibe while having a bop and bevvy before ambling down to the NYF Festival Quarter in Collins Barracks to ring in the New Year with The Scratch, Sharon Shannon, Gemma Dunleavy and plenty other amazing Irish talent.

A host of free, family friendly events have also been announced.

An extra event has just been added on December 30th at Dublin Castle due to phenomenal public demand. Hosted by Emma Power, a host of rising Irish artists including Tolü Makay, Robert Grace, Fia Moon, Rachel Mae Hannon and more will perform for family and friends of all ages from 4 pm. This is a free non-ticket event.

On New Year’s Day, you can hop between family-friendly concerts in Dublin Castle and Meeting House Square. Join the festivities at the New Year’s Day Concert in Dublin Castle with live performances from Jerry Fish, Dublin Gospel Choir, Code Of Behaviour & The New Brass Kings. 

Experience some of Ireland’s best traditional and folk musicians in Meeting House Square at the New Year’s Day Concert on 1 January 2024 with performances from Rónán Ó Snodaigh and Myles O'Reilly, Dani Larkin, Niamh Bury and Sola. Both of these events are free, non-ticketed family friendly events.

Book your tickets now as some New Year’s Festival Dublin events in Dublin Castle on New Year’s Eve have already sold out.

Lucky ticket holders will see Picture This headline the Countdown Concert and rising Irish artists Moncrieff, Lea Heart and Lucy Gaffney perform the family friendly Midnight Moment Matinee before taking to the stage as guests with Picture This for the evening show.
